Poll question: The crying Virgin Mary statue.

What is your initial reaction to the story of the crying statue? I admit, I picked Ridiculous, but I wonder how a cross section of religious and non-religious respond to these stories.

I thought the V Mary communicated to humankind via grilled cheese, what is up with this crying porcelain shtick??????

Pee-stain Mary.... Praise the Holy 40 ouncer, the three wise men, actually the three homeless men, brought forth the Holy image through a sacred golden flow. Burp!

When I first saw the underpass image, I thought it looked more like a vagina then the virgin mary. Ironic?

4. If it's a sign, what does it mean?
I mean, what does it signify? That the statue has the spirit of the Virgin Mary?

And what does the blood mean?

Seems to me that God could do a lot better to send a message to humanity other than making a piece of marble secrete red substances.

17. i saw three luminous crosses in my bathroom window one night

when i got up to use the loo . in my half asleep state, i looked at the window and saw what seemed to be three HUGE crosses in the sky!

i was all ready to sell tickets to my bathroom when i realized it was the moonlight shining through the crosshatched design on the glass!

even after, though, i still enjoyed it because it was pretty.

alas for me and the fundies, the window has since been replaced.

21. Crying statues, grilled cheese sandwiches, freeway salt stains...
THESE are the ways the ultimate creator of the universe would choose to reveal itself?

Honestly, even if I did believe in a god, I would be insulted by these kinds of silly parlor tricks.

The news said that some Catholic officials took samples for analysis. I do give it to the Catholics, after getting their asses kicked badly by science over and over, they are not going to get fooled again.

23. Millions believe that a woman gave birth but was a virgin.
I still find that to be an amazing situation.

btw the virgin birth concept existed before Jesus, so the Xtians borrowed this to make their religion more magical.
