More then one manifestation of "God the Son"...

why do so many people of all religions feel the need to be an exclusive club?

If you read the Bible carefully it leaves open the possibility that while there is only one God the Son, there is more then one manifestations of that entity...

for instance: Jesus says "the only way to the father is through the son" he didn't say "the only way to God is through me/Jesus."..

Bahá'ís believe that religion progresses from one age to the next, as conditions change and mankind's spiritual capacity develops. In this sense all religions are one, in that they are all inspired by God and are part of His great plan for humanity. In the sense that they arise at different places and times they are of course quite distinct.

If we look carefully at the scriptures of each of the great world religions, we will find that the spiritual truths, such as the message of love, the need for honesty, truthfulness and purity, can be found in every religion. They may be developed from one age to the next, but they always remain true, and they are re-emphasised when the next religious cycle begins:

"...these foundations of the Religion of God, which are spiritual and which are the virtues of humanity, cannot be abrogated; they are irremovable and eternal, and are renewed in the cycle of every Prophet."

The Triune God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus many times spoke in "third person" as well as first person, God.

one, human beings are so locked into creating ingroups & outgroups that we tend to do this automatically. My 'ingroup' is anyone who belongs to a group I belong to. We tend to think that members of our ingroup are good, and anyone outside that group is bad. There is diversity among people in our group, but *they* are all the same. Think about how automatically we form 'ingroups' and 'outgroups' when assigned to work on a project in groups in an elementary school classroom. As soon as you and I are assigned to the "Red Group" - the red group becomes the BEST group and anyone who belongs to the "Blue Group" or "Green Group" is bad.

I also think that while the world's great religions help us work toward living in love, rather than fear, it is our fear that causes us to cling to members of our 'ingroup', which inevitably leads to hatred of the 'outgroup'.

To me, spirituality is the quest to recognize and live as if we are all one -- religion is the antidote to more base human urges and beliefs.

I think all religions came from the same God.

He manifested himself in Jesus, Krishna, Bhudda, Muhammad, Moses and many other prophets.
