European Bible Study More Fun Than American
European Bible Study More Fun Than American

While it seems that some American religious groups are preoccupied with preventing gay marriage or the teaching of evolution, those Europeans are far more interesting. The BBC reports that “A German Protestant youth group has put together a 2006 calendar illustrated with erotic scenes from the Bible.”

The 12 re-enacted passages feature a bare-breasted Delilah cutting Samson’s hair and a nude Eve offering an apple.

The Nuremberg-based group said they wanted to represent the Bible in a way that would entice young people.

3. They look at the whole business very differently
Many have explained their regular church attendance as a way of maintaining a connection with all the people who have gone before, something I find much more attractive than getting filled with a weekly dose of fear and hatred.

Most do NOT go to church while they're in the US, for the above reason.

Many have told me they really don't believe much of what the churches are teaching, but continue to go for that sense of connection to the past.

I have a sneaking suspicion they are closer to the teachings than the discriminatory, stingy, hate-based sects in the US.
