A study in contrasts, re "War on Christmas"
Been doing some review of old Akron Beacon Journals (Ohio).

According to many RW nutcases, the ABJ is very biased, towards liberals.

So, I noticed (I have documented as far back as 1994) that the Akron Beacon Journal prints (at the top of the page) "Merry Christmas" instead of the date 12/25/ccyy. I also noticed that they do this for "Happy Thanksgiving", and I believe (I have to check) "Happy Easter". I do not recall seeing "Happy Hanukkah", nor "Happy Kwanzaa", but I have to check.

I also have, in my sweaty little palms, the religion page from a 1995 edition of the ABJ. The religion page appears on Saturdays (I am not counting the B.C. comic strip, but that can be "religious" any day). In this case, Saturday, December 23, 1995.

Here, among the "Christmas" church ads, I found the following nugget:

First Grace Church: "Holiday Services", including "Songs of the Season" and "Special Holiday Music". No mention of Christmas.
