So, has Brett Favre already signed with the Vikings?
The rumor that the source would neither confirm nor deny is that the Vikings already have signed Brett Favre, and that the team and Favre are waiting to release the news.

If accurate, this means that the Vikings have a signed contract that they have yet to submit to the league office. Setting aside for now the question of whether league rules permit such tactics, it puts into perspective recent developments such as Favre’s use of “we” when discussing the matter with Artie Lange’s biatch, the visit by a Vikings trainer to Favre to check on his arm, and reports that coach Brad Childress wanted to see Favre participate in some of the offseason workouts.

These details all make much more sense if Favre already is a member of the team.

The other bit of information, which we also posed to the source who declined to confirm or deny the rumor, is that the Vikings already have green-lighted the production by Reebok of purple jerseys bearing the number 4 — and the five-letter name that isn’t pronounced like it’s spelled.

I wonder just how much tampering the Vikings did in 08 and 09 while Favre was under contract with the Packers and Jets?

1. As a devout Packer fan
Edited on Mon Jun-22-09 08:25 AM by Bluzmann57
Brett Favre is dead to me if he signs with the Vikings. I have been a Packer fan since before Favre was born, and will be a Packer fan forever. Holmgren won the Super Bowl, and Favre certainly was a big part of it, but so were Levens, Bennett, Freeman, Beebe, Rison, Howard, and the rock solid defense. And no qb is worth much without some blockers. So we shall see just how well an aging Favre can do with a good Vikings team. And we will also see just how long his consecutive game streak goes on. He plays Green Bay twice.

3. 2 years/20 million
is the rumour. I'm excited for several reasons
--the hype has died down=the last flames of the publicity whore's career
--he will tank, twice, against the Packers=2 W's (One vengeful BF does not = 11 playoff-bound ex-teammates on defense, after he tanks and does his routine lockerroom shitfulness upon his current teammates it will be 21 against 1)
--when they shit can him, Childress will be sent packing too, then all the FA's that dont want to waste their careers wearing purple and dwelling in the celler will hit the road=the vikes will stink for 3 or more seasons
--this will go down as another, and one of the greatest, Viking chokes in their choke-filled history
