Syracuse University: Big East Champions
Edited on Sat Mar-12-05 10:04 PM by welshTerrier2
close game in the first half with W. Virginia ... Syracuse once again blew most of an 18 point lead midway through the second half ...

in the end, Syracuse was just too much for W. Virginia ...

the Orange are a great team to watch when they aren't giving their fans heart attacks ... Boeheim coached teams still lack that killer instinct but they're playing some of their best b-ball of the year ... the team's sophomores, Roberts and Watkins, have really helped turn the team around ...

on to the NCAA tournament ...

1. The Cuse is in the House!
Big East champs. 4th seed. Why the hell did Uconn get a 2nd seed? We have the same amount of losses. They beat us twice during the year, but we beat them when it mattered most. They tied for the regular season Big east championship, but we won the Big East tournament. It seems like a wash to me; they should've each had the same seed. Oh well. We have a pretty good bracket. Maybe we'll rack up another final four. Go Cuse!

2. The BE didn't get a lot of respect overall
I'm surprised they only got 5 teams in, as ND and GT had resumes comparable (at the very least) to Iowa, NCSU, UAB, and UNI. The conference is really set up to be screwed next year, as we add Louisville, Cincy, DePaul/Marquette (bubble teams) to the current 6 (5 tournament teams, minus BC, plus GT and ND). I don't see the committee giving any conference 8 bids, regardless of how good the teams are. We deserve to take 2 of C-USA's spots, since we have their 2 best teams.

UConn got a little boost as a #2, but both BC and Cuse slipped to #4s despite a regular season and tournament championship between the 2. FWIW, a lot of people are picking Cuse to upset Duke, while both UConn (Carolina) and BC (Illinois) are in brutal brackets.
