Cabrera Hits for Cycle to Help Yanks
Source: NY TIMES

CHICAGO -- As rarities go, Melky Cabrera has nothing on Mark Buehrle. Ten days after Buehrle pitched baseball’s 18th perfect game, Cabrera hit for the cycle in the Yankees’ 8-5 victory against Buehrle and the Chicago White Sox.

It was the 286th time a player has hit for the cycle, and the fifth time in the majors this season. Yet the feat is still relatively rare, especially for certain teams, including the Yankees. It was the first time a Yankee had hit for the cycle since Tony Fernandez in 1995. The last three to do it before Fernandez were all predecessors of Cabrera as the Yankees’ center fielder: Bobby Murcer, Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio.

6. Can we get this garbage off DU Breaking News? Stinking Yankees.
Much bigger stories have been posted here and pulled than a player did something for the 286th time.

I know. I have tried to post sports in places besides Sports, and been yanked immediately.

Yank this non-story as well, please.
