I do not find Brett Favre anywhere near as annoying as Michael Jordan
When he did his final "washed up" tour, people were lining up to get tickets. Yet he was much more of a jackass than Favre ever will be.

1. Jordan
never manipulated things to play with the Bulls biggest rival. Favre is a douche. If I was a Packers fan I'd be mighty pissed.

3. No, Jordan only manipulated the league, the officiating, and the game
and he specifically targeted the Pistons' style of play with his crapola.

The Packers could have kept Favre. They chose to move on.

24. You have a problem with defense?
The NBA clearly agrees with you. It was embarrassing how the scores suddenly all looked like All Star games.

34. You Don't Actually Watch NBA Basketball, Do You?
And you didn't watch it when Jordan was playing. The Bulls were the best defensive team of their era. Look at their points against.

Well, you won't because your mind is already made up.

...yeah, he was the greatest ever, but still. That said, Favre is hardly the greatest ever and the coverage of his latest stint borders on insanity. Who gives a flying fuck!

4. Favre is a dithering douche. He's been jerking his team(s) around for at least five years.
The "will he comeback or not" thing.

Jordon owned basketball and could basically dictate what he did and who he would do it for. Favre has become a dither douche!

6. For those of us who couldn't bear Jordan and wished him good riddance
He was equally, if not MORE, annoying. Remember that ridiculous brou-ha-ha when he hit a home run in the minor leagues (his only one) and we all had to watch that grainy home movie on the sports shows for hours? Blech.

I think you should just say you hate Jordon for winning 6 NBA Championships, and shutting down the pistons domination of the NBA!

9. Yes, you do sense a Detroit bial
The most unsporting thing (of many unsporting things) he did was to basically say if any of the Pistons were on the 1992 Dream Team, he wouldn't play - the team that won back to back championships in 89 and 90. So no Dumars, no Isiah, the list goes on. Then when he did get there, remember how childishly he behaved? He wouldn't wear the warmups because he had a contract with Nike (even though Nike said it was okay and of course, it was an AMATEUR event). He wouldn't participate in the pre and post game ceremonies. Typical of his bratty behavior.

Favre would have to go a long, long way to make me dislike him as much as I do MJ!

14. Talk about unsporting? That was the thug pistons.
When the Bulls finally beat them in a series the pistons walked off the floor without shaking hands, not only unsporting but downright childish. I guess they finally realized it was basketball skills and not fighting skills that win.

I've never heard of that, for any team. How, praytell, do they relay the pitch to the batter in the 2 seconds from the catcher's signal til the pitch?

8. Jordan may have been annoying, but I don't think he ever gave the finger to Chicago the way Favre
Edited on Thu Aug-20-09 04:19 PM by Poiuyt
is to Green Bay. Favre had a beef with Ted Thompson, so he decided (long ago) to stick it to the Packer fans -- the same fans who worshipped him, who stood by him during his drug problems, who supported his charities, who cried with him when his father died, and who even named a goddam street after him. No Favre in his pettiness and vindictiveness decided to manipulate his way to the one team that would anger the Packer fans more than any other. This isn't about winning, or another shot at the Super Bowl, or even the money (remember, he was still under contract with the Jets). This is about sticking it to the city that had loved him.

He is a very small man.

10. Granted they are annoying in different ways
but it was pretty bad the way Jordan played in Chicago in a place that had a statue erected to him after he retired and with his old, retired number hanging from the rafters. Even the most misguided Jordan drooler must have had a problem with that.

However, I'm sure ESPN will replay it 100 times. There's something about Michael Jordan, and I don't understand it, that makes grown men get hot and bothered. I recommend watching with a few moist towelettes.

22. Frankly, I can't stand either one of them
Edited on Fri Aug-21-09 12:24 PM by 1gobluedem
Favre is a media hog and Jordan is a phony. I can tell you, though, that Michael Jordan is universally loathed in SE Michigan for his antics with the 1992 Dream Team. Both Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars deserved to be on that team and no other player had the right to deny them but the US Olympic Committee caved.

Say what you will about Bill Laimbeer but the guy's not a phony. He freely admits he's unlikable and said it wasn't his job to be anyone's buddy. Jordan made zillions pretending to be America's favorite nice guy while he was consorting with gamblers, cheating on his wife, and acting like an over-entitled prima donna at the Olympics with his refusal to wear the team sweats, jetting off to play golf on his off day; being the quintessential non-team player. Great way to represent your country, MJ. One of my favorite moments in last year's Olympics was seeing Kobe and LeBron in the stands cheering Michael Phelps on.

MJ also pulled the equivalent of Favre, after he retired and was honored by the city, the NBA, and the team with retired jerseys, statues, and everything else under the sun, he decided to un-retire, bought a share of another team, and played for them. It's not like he needed the money either. To me, that's a huge slap at the organization, the fans, and the city that made him a star. No loyalty, just me, me, me....just like Favre.

Peas in a pod...can't stand either of 'em.

23. Michael Jordan ruined the Olympics
I don't know why the Olympic committee let him get away with that crap. He is the reverse definition of sporting.

I wouldn't shake hands with him either. For the NBA to allow him to re-write the rules was obscene, a blot on the sport.

26. Yeah it was annoying because if Jordan didn't retire
the Bulls could have swept the 90's. While Major Suckage and his unholy horde ran wild on the Pistons. What's that I hear its the Major and he is on a return tour in Detriot.
By the way Farve is a prick and I hope the Packers blow out the Vikings this year. As a Bears fan I hate the Packers but Farve made hate the Vikings more. So congrats Farve you have a Bears fan rooting for the Packers.
