1. Big deal...
Little Davey, Helton, and Pablo are all within .002 of each other...Problem is, none of them are going to catch Hanley Ramirez, he looks to have the title all sewn up.

2. Yes. Big deal...
when Pablo was at 333 and Helton at 319 at the All-Star break.

3. Why is it a big deal ?
Now if it were for the batting title, that would be one thing...but it's not.

We all know Helton's a good hitter, but his career is winding down. On the other hand, Pablo has just established himself, with many great years ahead...he'll be playing long after Helton is retired. Now that IS something to care about.

Helton-OLD

Pablo-YOUNG

4. Haha, BJ Upton thought he homered so he started jogging to first
Edited on Sun Sep-06-09 03:07 PM by JonLP24
Once the ball bounced off the wall he tried to take off but was held up on first so it was just a single. However a wild pitch sent him to second but he should be on third.

9. Baroid was famous for doing that
He would never run if he thought he had hit it out. He'd still be standing at home plate like a jerk as his drive bounced off the wall and he'd barely be able to make it to first. Glad to see upton his carrying on the tradition of no hustle.

6. Rockies fans showed class
Giving Dbacks Chris Young an ovation after hitting his third home run in the same game. Rockies pull out the win 13-5. In related NL wild card news Fielder had a walk-off HR to defeat the SF Giants 2-1 giving the Rockies a 2 game cushion.

7. Bull.....
those Rockies* fans only gave Young an ovation because they had a big lead at the time..You think they would have been cheering had Young's third HR tied the game or put the D-Backs ahead?

Oh, and a 2 game lead ain't nothin'

8. Of course not
But it was still a classy thing to do. Even the Dbacks announcers praised the Denver crowd.

2 game lead isn't much but with only 3 weeks left to play I'm happy with about as much cushion they can gain.
