Tila Tequila allergic to alcohol and unable to drink? That is what Tila Tequila is claiming, shortly after having her boyfriend arrested at his Poway home for suspicion of battery and false imprisonment. According to Radar Online, Tila Tequila was attempting to jump out in front -- via Twitter -- of whatever defense Shawne Merriman might compose for his arrest early Sunday morning after the reality show star called 911 and told them the San Diego Chargers linebacker was choking her. An avid Twitter user, she was on the social networking site soon after her release from the hospital. Shawne Merriman, meanwhile, was taken in by San Diego County authorities.

Tila Tequila tweeted: "I am allergic to alcohol. It has been publicly known for years. That is how I got the name Tila "Tequila" cuz the irony. I can't drink."

Edit to add, further down the article I posted it leaves out that the night club owner and the police said she appeared intoxicated.

There were several other people at the home at the time of the alleged assault, and police have questioned them. Police also said Tequila was intoxicated, but they were unclear whether Merriman had been drinking.

All I have to say this is somewhat strange.

All that is being toss about via every multi posting vehicle, it doesn't surprise me to the whole strange-mess this event has stirred, meanwhile at the gates of charger ville we have hopes of a great season never the less of Mr. Shame's actions or in-actions. Theres a lesson to be learnt, leave the reality minded show girls alone, talk about baggage and trouble.

Hope all is untrue about the aSsault...even if she was toxicated aNd some believe that Marijuana is a class 1 narcotic. i bet history reveals with clarity that alcohol has cause more harm than pot...

One thing I wasn't spreading online rumors, those are her own words about having an allergic reaction to alcohol therefore she wasn't drinking.

Tequila, who was not seriously injured, was taken to a hospital, examined and released. Caldwell said that deputies did not see any physical injuries on Nguyen.

"That's not to say they weren't there, the deputies just didn't see any," Caldwell said.

Like Caldwell said it doesn't mean they weren't there but no visible signs of injury is key.

Also remember Tequila says she doesn't drink because she is "allergic". On top of the police saying she was intoxicated the night club owner also says the same.

The owner of the nightclub where Shawne Merriman spent time with TV personality Tila Tequila on Saturday has refuted her claim that she was not drinking prior to the arrest of the Chargers lineback Sunday morning.

Tequila said on Twitter that she was allergic to alcohol and is unable to drink.

James Brennan, the owner of the Stingaree nightclub, said several of his employees told him she drank several shots of tequila and sipped a bottle of vodka.

"She wasn't like falling down or anything of that nature, but she was visibly intoxicated," Brennan told the AP.

"It sounds like she's allergic to the truth."

On top of all that the DA hasn't even decided to press charges or not and this hasn't even gone to trial but so many are quick to condemn Merriman. Her credibility is in serious question here but he could be guilty. I'm holding back before forming an opinion about this because everything isn't known.

I'm not condemning merriman, just simply putting the finger onto Mr. Shame for not using good judgment with Ms. T...However this event turns out, it could be lights out for S.M. as a long time member with the chargers, too bad.

I think he was responsible in trying to arrange a ride for her or what not. Sometimes you can't predict these things that go wrong.

However if everything she said is true(except for the alcohol part which has been proven false or contradictory) then it is lights out for Merriman.

to choking the other person, you have seriously lost it and the next step is murder. Jerks start out hitting women, and as it intensifies, you eventually go to choking...Merriman has serious problems.

Merriman was suspended four games for testing positive for steroids in 2006. Lets see how the front office responds to this epic mess... and the Charger season seem so hopeful...
