UConn Cornerback Jasper Howard Dies From Stabbing Incident

Reports from Storrs, Conn. indicate that UConn football star Jasper Howard has died from a stabbing incident that happened early Sunday morning on the UConn campus.

Howard, a 5-foot-9, 174-pound Miami native, was taken to St. Francis Hospital where he was pronounced dead according to the Hartford Courant.

The starting cornerback was involved in an altercation following a fire alarm outside an on-campus dance at the Student Union shortly after midnight. The alarm prompted approximately 300 people to evacuate the building and into the streets where the fight started, according to UConn police.

Head coach Randy Edsall, who spent the night at St. Francis, was not available for comment according to the report.

I just saw him playing yesterday! It's sad and tragic.
