The biggest fantasy football mistake ever?
Some guy in my league left Brady on the bench and played Hasselbeck.

Hasselbeck was only worth 1.68 points for him while Brady would have been worth 60.20.

Ever seen a bigger screw up? I know I haven't.

1. That person must have been listening to fantasy "experts" all week
Edited on Tue Oct-20-09 04:19 AM by JonLP24
Because that is what they have been saying all week, "start Hasselbeck against Arizona's D."

I don't blame the "experts" because on paper Arizona had the #32 ranked pass defense mostly because a 400 yard passing game by Peyton Manning can skew those stats especially early in the season. But the defense overall is good, they can apply pressure and they are #1(look at the numbers if you don't believe that) in stopping the run and they held Hasselbeck to 112 passing yards, a lost fumble, and an interception. :woohoo:

The biggest fantasy mistake would have to be myself. In 2004 Denver was battling injuries at the RB position so they planned on starting FB Rueben Droughns at RB. I know in those days Denver could plug in a guy off the street and he'll run for a 1,000 yards but I doubted myself, I said to myself "He's a fullback, he can't be an effective RB."

Anyways first start at RB he rushes for 193 yards against Carolina and someone picks him up faster than a blink of the eye and goes on to rush over 1,000 yards.

Edit/Unlike the person in your league, I started 'Arizona' defense and they scored me 16 fantasy points as opposed to the 1.68 points scored for Hasselbeck.

3. In 2002, a friend took Janikowski in the first round of the draft. n/t
Starting Hasselbeck over Brady was an awful call. Drafting a kicker in the 1st round was just flat out idiotic.

5. Unfortunately for the Raiders, it wasn't
My friend had the good sense to give up on Fantasy Football after that season.

6. In the same league I just traded Brady and benched Austin week 5
I am not overly worried about trading Tom Brady as I am the first place team in the league, have Rivers and Cutler, and the best stable of RBs in the league (tempted to trade one away for a second WR but other then that I am good)... and I still won despite benching Austin, but that would have given me another 30 points.
