The Danny hasn't tried that crap.

One of my friends is a Cowboy and he's awesome in every way, and a good liberal to boot.

I hate Jerry Jones (ew.. I could tell you some stories on that one. I used to date a guy who lived in his building), I don't even like sports, but I do like my friend, so

GO COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!

The Saints have been coasting and hopefully this will light a fire under their asses. Better to lose now than to lose a playoff game.

I'm still proud of them though. :)

I'm kind of glad, maybe they'll rise up to the challenge. They need that chip on their shoulder, I think they have been coasting. Any of the last three games, they would've lost to a playoff team.

We got killed in the trenches. Romo played very well--I rag on him a lot, but he really impressed me tonight.

We missed Shockey, big Sedrick Ellis, and half our secondary. I have a feeling we may meet again.

28. Actually my Phins lost most of their key players early on.
I try hard not to use the injury excuse when my team loses---(although I have been known to) because all teams can pretty much use that excuse this time of year.

34. 17 or 18 game schedule doesn't make any sense
Edited on Sun Dec-20-09 10:21 AM by JonLP24
I know it's in talks but how do you decide the extra game or two? The system is good.

Each team plays every divisional opponent twice, that's 6.

Each team plays every team from another division in-conference once, it rotates so you play a different division every year. That's 10.

Each team plays every team from an out of conference division that's 14.

The other two is based on last season's ranking. Take your 49ers for example who are playing the NFC North and AFC South this season. They finished last year #2 in the NFC West so that means they play the Eagles(East) and the Falcons(South) who finished #2 in their division last year.

See 16 games covers playing equal division finishers within the conference. An out of conference division and an in-conference division as well every team inside their own division.

Now tell me under this system how do you decide that 17th or 18th game? It's perfect the way it is.

You probably would have said the same thing about the 14 game schedule. Change happens.

Look, if there's money to be made, the specifics of an expanded schedule will be figured out. Probably the only thing that can stop it is if the NFLPA refuses to go along..

36. I explained the system and it makes sense
Throwing an extra game or two and you haven't explained how do you decide that extra game?

6 games against their own division
4 game against another division within the conference
4 games against a division from out of conference
2 games against a team from the other two in-conference division based on last season's record. For example since the Saints finished last in the NFC South last year they play the Rams and the Lions because both of those teams finished last in their division and the Saints are playing the NFC East this year.

I made no mention of a 14 game season because of realignment with every division with 4 teams this system makes sense. I explained how it is perfect and throwing an extra game doesn't make sense. How do you systematically decide the extra game or two? No need to change something that works unless the NFL decides to add more teams.

38. How about this?
Two games versus every team in your division, plus 1 against every team in your conference...that adds up to 18. I'm not saying that's the absolute answer, but it does demonstrate that one way or another the logistics can be worked out..

40. Actually that works
but that means no games against any team from another conference. That may not be a bad thing because you have to go through your conference to get to the Super Bowl and it could be a good idea to play every team in your conference and every team in your division twice because winning your division is very important. Interesting suggestion.

One thing I learned playing fantasy football for just the second time is that there are many injuries and players play through them all the time. Before this week Peyton Manning was playing with an injured glute for 3-4 weeks. I have 3 players listed as questionable and will be watching Sunday NFL Countdown to see if they'll be active or not. A big reason why I woke up too early(3am, couldn't fall back asleep).

I can understand losing a QB or the best player of a team to affect success. I'm aware the Dolphins were hit hard with the loss of Brown(he was on my FF team) and Pennington but they are playing well despite that. I know other teams would fall apart with losses like that.
