5. Calm down? If I was mad, I would be writing in all caps
I simply can't understand why some people would spend all of their time hating on a team. I have never understood it. And I said hating, not disliking. There is a difference.

The only language you know. I guess you didn't see Poppy Bush in Tom Benson's suite either. I need to remind you of something about your obsessiveness with the Cowboys and why you hate Dallas

Playoff record against 9ers. Dallas 5 and 2. Enough said.

14. No, just an observer of your stupid posts over the past month
Let me see, you made a competition of Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith for the HOF. Douche number 1.

Every post you make is some sort of propaganda for the 9ers - "9ers back will be all time rusher for franchise" or some such nonsense. Douche number 2.

"Joe Montana is the greatest quarterback ever." Have you ever considered, I don't know, Johnny Unitas perhaps? Even I as a Cowboy fan understand Emmitt Smith is not the greatest back ever. You have no objectivity. Douche number 3.

Shall I continue? We won't go into the little dick of an owner you had with mafia ties.

My drink of choice is Mountain Dew. You being a 49er fan, I'm sure your drug of choice is some primo Owsley acid. That's the only way you can get through the haze of your clouded thinking.

9. I know. I just don't get it.
I know for some of you it's in fun. But I just don't understand the hate to the level some people have. I always would focus on my team's problems, schedule, etc, and then I see others who say "I pull for any team that plays (insert team)." I have never, ever understood that.

I went to school with his brother. I think he was in the same class with Tom Landry Jr.

Oh the jokes! The only one I can remember was: "Lance Rentzel? He was great in exhibition games."

The site left off the arrest of Craig Morton for urinating in public.

35. This is hardly limited to the Cowboys
Look around. There are criminals on every team. Football attracts thugs. And then you have those idiot coaches who want their teams to "take a knee" so they can get absolution and forgiveness for all their thuggery.

36. I disagree
Edited on Tue Feb-09-10 02:28 AM by JonLP24
the vast majority do not commit any crimes and while some do it's not because it's football. If you look at many jobs I'm sure it's comparable to the numbers who have a criminal record and those who don't. I've worked in the construction industry and still do but work is slow lately I can't count the number of people I've known that broke the law at one time or another or currently on parole. However that alone doesn't make them bad people, some are though. However vast majority don't commit crimes and that alone doesn't make it them good people. However I came across real thugs in my life and 99% of NFL athletes do not fit the definition.

42. I think if you take 40-50 years of history of any NFL team, you would easily
be able to find all sorts of crimes that have been committed by the players on that team. In the last 10 years, I can recall at least 5 or 6 Baltimore Ravens that have had run-ins with the law. We can cherry pick the facts anyway you want, as everyone (self included) here is doing.

The one thing I will say, is that you put young people who are used to being catered to and give them a bundle of money, it is a recipe for disaster.

44. I wasn't talking about the Cowboys
I'm sure the numbers are roughly equal for every team. I differ with the idea that NFL attracts bad guys. The ones that are bad make the news so that's all we here and we get that kind of impression. However the vast majority don't do anything wrong, are active in philanthropy, etc. but you don't hear about them because that's not interesting news. I don't think any amount of money will change that fact. Only give money to people who aren't used to having money means they will go on a spending spree until they run out of money. It doesn't turn people into criminals. There are plenty of poor people out there that commit crimes so it's unfair to single out the NFL. It's kind of like a few individuals for your team making the entire Cowboys look bad when the majority don't do anything wrong.

45. You're right, jon.
The point that I did not make is that though most clubs will have a handful of players over a 10/40/50 year period that get in trouble with the law, they represent only a small percentage of the players that have been associated with the club over that period.

I will say, though, that given the money they are making, it does give them a sense of entitlement, that they can do whatever they like. Some will blow all their money, other will put themselves in compromising positions (legally, ethically, morally, etc.), and many others will actually make sure they are financially set for life and also donate generously to the charities of their choice. This is true in all of the major sports and not just football.

39. Yes, if some people would devote their time toward investigating others
You would probably see similar. Look at the Bengals lately, for instance. Unfortunately, the Cowboys are under the microscope, and some people have such an obsessive hatred that they spend all of their spare time researching such assinine things.

41. Um, no. The arrest rate for football players is pretty low. The NFL has discipline to a degree
the other sports do not and most of the players accept that. The stereotypes about a bunch of stupid, wild men isn't really true for the NFL.
