6. he was on his last legs by then, but still fun to watch
if nothing else than for how much he always seemed to enjoy the game :)

Before that he had a few good years with the Kings and Pacers, and averaged over 20 ppg for a year or two. But in college he was a beast--first team All-American and Big 8 player of the year as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. Oklahoma is definitely a football school, but there aren't many (if any) football players that Sooner fans like more than Wayman. When I saw the OP about #23, I couldn't resist the chance to give him his props :D

7. Micheal Jordan
They wear it either because they want to be the next Jordan or because they really liked Jordan as a younger person. A number of people pick jersey numbers based on the fact that they liked particular players who wore the same number earlier.
