NOOOOOOOO (Boldin traded to Ravens)

The Arizona Cardinals have traded receiver Anquan Boldin to the Baltimore Ravens for third and fourth round draft picks, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Boldin, who will be entering the final year of his contract, had 84 receptions for 1,024 yards and four touchdowns in 2009.

The Cardinals have had a busy off season with the retirement of Kurt Warner and the release of Antrel Rolle. Inside linebacker Karlos Dansby may also leave the team after becoming an unrestricted free agent.

The Ravens bolstered their receiving corps with the signing of Donte' Stallworth in February to a one-year contract.

Now with Dansby and Rolle likely gone 2010 will likely be a losing season. It was a nice run while it lasted.

5. I thought I would be used it
Considering management's loooong history of letting talented players walk to become stars on other teams but with a new stadium and promises they would get revenue from it to spend on players so they can stay competitive I believed them. It's not only this, it's letting Rolle and Dansby go with no rumors of them bringing in anyone like Sharper.

3. With Seattle pursuing Brandon Marshall
Edited on Fri Mar-05-10 06:57 PM by JonLP24
I can see Arizona as a third place team. 49ers should be the favorites especially with two first round picks.

To add salt on the wounds Arizona even gave them a 5th round pick!

4. I don't know about the favorites
not with Alex Smith at QB. This helps their chances though...we'll see what they do with those draft picks.

7. Smith and Leinart are at similar stages
They can win games for you but are not consistent so they kind of cancel each other out. 49ers have some very talented players in Willis, Davis, Gore, and Crabtree led all their receivers in production in far less fewer games. 1st round picks are very valuable and you add the fact they got two of them they can be a force with the right picks. Seattle is questionable but I don't put them ahead of the 49ers. Rams had a fire sale last year so this year will likely be too early for them to recover from.

6. Your 2010 Super Bowl Champions: The Baltimore Ravens!
Flacco gets a top WR to compliment Ray Rice and their defense?

Super. Bowl. Champions.

8. Actually, that was the New Orleans Saints. Maybe 2011.
Great get for the Ravens. Lifelong Lions fan transplanted to Silver Spring for work - I like the Ravens. Redskins' mania a little overwhelming.

9. Seriously
It's a steal. 5th fastest player in history to 7,000 yards, 2nd fastest to 500 receptions. Incredible work ethic and YAC beast(used a lot on screens). He is also a great run blocker which should help Ray Rice.

10. I can understand the move, JonLP24
With Warner retired the Cards playoff hopes were just about nil -- why not rebuild? Can't say I agree with it from a fan's standpoint -- I was heart-broken when Jerry Rice left San Francisco -- but that's business.

11. As I said before
Warner wasn't the only reason, with Leinart who has had all those years behind Warner and even had a solid rookie year there is no reason they couldn't of done it without him. Perhaps bring in a veteran to compete for the job but they were ready with pieces in place to do it again. I can understand letting Rolle go with what he was asking which would put him as among the highest paid safetys -- he's very good but not quite elite(now watch him make a Pro Bowl with his new team) but Dansby? Hard to replace a player like him and they could do it. Give Leinart the weapons and with Wells and Hightower two very good backs those chances were not nil. Finally they got jack shit for Boldin, 3rd and 4th round picks not to mention they are late in those rounds is not worth it.
