Miami Dolphins trade Ted Ginn Jr. to 49ers for fifth-round pick
Ted Ginn Jr., who arrived in Miami in 2007 as the No. 9 overall pick, was traded to the 49ers for a fifth-round selection after three mostly disappointing seasons.

<snip>

"Aside from a few special moments on the field, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. was never able to escape the massive shadow of Miami's decision to draft him ninth overall in 2007.

His legacy with the organization will be left at that.

The team traded Ginn to the San Francisco 49ers on Friday, two days after replacing him as the No. 1 wide receiver with Brandon Marshall. The Dolphins will receive a fifth-round pick.

Ginn phoned his father Friday to tell him the news. His career with the Dolphins will end with 128 catches and 1,664 yards over a three-year span, highlighted by two 100-yard games."

1. Good...now they can play the drinking game...
and that was---what yard line will Ginn run out on during a kickoff.

One of the softest players I've ever seen in the NFL.

2. 49ers have been looking for an underachiever to return kickoffs

9. He'll get a couple in...
but will fade as usual.

Wow---in one week we went from Ginn to Marshall... Sweet.

5. If I recall right, you predicted Ginn would be a better pick than Brady Quinn
Edited on Fri Apr-16-10 04:03 PM by hughee99
Ginn didn't set the bar that high, but Quinn busted out his shovel and had no problem getting under it. Good call.

10. It took a little digging...

11. That's two years ago...I can't remember past last week.
LOL--- Ya got me there....

That was back before we knew that Ginn was vanilla icing......

Fact is---both panned out terribly.

3. No more noodle arm to Ginn?
Edited on Fri Apr-16-10 03:21 PM by Upton
I guess we've seen the end of the 5 yard outs that taxed Chad #1's arm so much.

Actually I agree with the amateur detective, in that Ginn appeared to be a bit soft when I've seen him play. Of course, most of the Dolphin team appeared soft to me..

Anyway, once Ginn starts playing for the 49ers, he'll soon get the message that things that were okay in Miami will not be tolerated by Mike Singletary...

Question Cboy---

Will Singletary ever get over .500?

BTW douche... Henne is the starting QB and was the starting QB most of last season.

I'm still trying to decide who the Niners QB is?

4. The remainder of his family traded for a 7th
They were playing Cam Cameron's famous draft day quote all afternoon today on Miami radio.
