Rays Sweep Yankees in New York
Edited on Thu May-20-10 09:19 PM by Jack Rabbit
The Tampa Bay Rays defeated the New York Yankees this evening, 8-6, to complete a sweep of a three-game series in New York.

Old Man Steinbrenner was seen chewing the carpet in his luxury box after tonight's game.

Tonight's musical interlude is a piece that celebrates the forces of heroism defeating the forces of tyranny. Please click here.

1. The Rays suck too.
Just not as much as the Yankers.

2. Where is the resident Yavin (oops, Yankee) fan??
He was so prominent around here in early November.

10. I Don't Get Bent Out of Shape During The Regular Season
Hey, last year, the Nats swept the Yankees at the stadium, and look at how the year ended.

3. Your Yankee-hatred has reduced you to a pathetic state
reminiscent of a heroin addict jonesing for a fix.

You have been reduced to rooting for a team that a) entered the American League last Tuesday, b) still plays indoors (even the Twinkies don't do that any more) and c) thinks it's cool to wear matching glorified mullets. Everyone knows only hockey players look good in mullets. :eyes:

4. The Giants do that?
Well, that's who I root for.

I just root against the Yankees.

8. For the record, I loathe quiche.
It's made with eggs, you see. :puke:

I have, however, had arugula as a pizza topping! :-)

13. I guess the Quiche-eating Ginats ate too much quiche this last weekend as they
were swept by their cross-bay rivals!!

7. Actually, it was only a two-game sweep...
...but I'll take it.

9. You're right: two games.
However, at this point, Selig needs to consign the Yankees to Triple-A, since that's the team they're fielding. Uninjured earlier in the season, they took two of three from the Rays.
