About time. Griffey is hitting .184. He should have never come back..let alone for a second year.

1. What a great career! And it was not steroid enhanced.

2. Sure it wasn't
just like your A-Roid claims. And even if Griffey's career wasn't steroid enhanced, it sure was Kingdome enhanced. It's anybody's guess as to how many extra HRs Griffey has because of it.

3. Funny, but I don't remember the Ace Reporter commenting on Griffey
and what you are claiming is his roid usage. Seeing how his career declined over the last 10 years I doubt he used roids, unlike someone who managed to put up monstrous numbers into his early 40's and is still revered by douchebags like you.

4. You doubt if Griffey used..
I'm not sure, but as we've found out...you never know. Maybe we should get the amateur detective on the case...he knows everything!

One thing I AM sure of, there's no way Griffey would have 600+ HRs had he played in a normal park for the first half of his career instead of the Kingdome. Meaning his stats are every bit as skewed as a known roid user.

Why couldn't you just admit that three years ago.

Maybe we should have gotten the Ace Reporter involved in this case. He/you have all the answers.

Douche.

8. Not a valid argument, IMO
How can stats be "skewed" in a sanctioned MLB park? Would you skew Vida Blue's stats for playing in the pitcher-friendly Oakland Coliseum? Stats are what they are, and they average out over a player's career.

16. bullshit
How many times did Griffey go down because of injuries on the artificial turf? Also, it's a really stupid argument, and by your logic the Colorado Rockies would have staggering career high home-run leaders (they don't even have 1 member of the franchise who ever broke 500).

17. Bullshit yourself..
I used to go to the Kingdome regularly when I lived up in Snohomish County. Balls that would be medium deep fly balls in other parks just sailed out of there. If you don't think playing in the Kingdome added to Griffey's HR stats, then you don't know much about baseball.

19. But playing in the kingdome also hurt Griffey's carrer total ABs
I've been to a lot of games at the Kingdome, and sure the ball carried there, but I don't think you can say Griffey has inflated totals because of the Dome. He took a few significant injuries because of the place that kept him out of the batters box for some time. Also, remember he was dominating during the strike-shortened season.

Facts:
1. He has perhaps the purest swing in the modern era
2. If its not from San Francisco then you don't seem to appreciate it at all.
3. There is no evidence he was using roids
4. His career totals suggest he hit homeruns consistently in many ballparks.
5. He won a bunch of silver sluggers, gold gloves, and all-star honors, an MVP.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

Seriously? You of all people are going to speculate, without ANY evidence whatsoever, about someone's steroid use. Perhaps Griffey never KNOWINGLY played in the Kingdome.

:spray:

Actually, the way he used to sulk and brood in the nineties reminded me somewhat of Bonds. Of course, when Griffey came back last year we got the new improved "I'm great in the clubhouse" version. No doubt meant to take Mariners fans minds off the fact he could no longer produce on the field..

What does that mean?

15. I happened to be at the ballpark last night
they did a really nice tribute to him. He did save baseball in Seattle and in some ways, the Kingdome hurt his career because of the turf (artificial turf has caused a lot of sports injuries). They showed lots of clips of him hitting the deck while making catches on what was basically concrete.

They also put a 24 behind second base.
