"Today’s story about the University of Florida installing statues honoring its three Heisman Trophy winners left a major question unanswered.

Will the statue of Tim Tebow include a Bible verse in his eye black?

Tebow was famous for including references to Bible passages, such as “Phil 4:13,” in his eye black. Tallahassee artist W. Stanley “Sandy” Proctor is basing the statue on measurements taken from Tebow and images from his playing days, so it’s reasonable to wonder whether an eye-black message will be included.

Proctor’s business manager, Peggy Proctor Woodham, said work on the statue has just being finished in the studio but the statue could still be tweaked when it subsequently goes through the months-long foundry process. The decision is up to UF whether to add a message in the eye black, she said.

"If they wanted it, we would do it,” she said."
