First Penalty kick shoot outs at the World Cup
Paraguay v Japan.

I don't expect to see either of them in the final - neither can score a goal.

5. Paraguay wins
5-3 - first time in history into the last eight. 5 out of five for Paraguay.
Komano hits the upright.

7. Thanks, hopefully power
will be back by the afternoon game. Or I will have to come to the coffee shop and watch on the puter.

There are real reasons why this sucks though...

9. Is it a scheduled powercut?
http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/matches/index.html

Four South American countries in the last eight - one in every match.

12. NO this is the US
it never happens in the US :sarcasm:

It looks like the power company is changing a major piece of equipment for the whole complex, probably the transformer that serves it.

And the reasons this sucks

hubby was late for school, alarm did not go off... From now on I will give him the battery operated one as a backup.

He needs access to the net for homework, have laptop will travel,

I need to check on a few neighbors that cannot use the stairs...

Oh and of course my stove is electric, so we will have to do food out today.

8. As a former goalie, I loved shootouts.

I was tall and thin, and had great reflexes in my prime.

11. Goalies love penalty kick outs
They're a hard way to lose a match. Spare a thought for that poor Japanese player who hit the crossbar - he'll be haunted with 'what if' for the rest of his life.

10. Thanks for the heads-up, I ran out to watch it
Even though I'm not particularly interested in either team, shootouts sure are emotionally gripping...
