Ten refs at World Cup eliminated from further responsibilities in this tournament.

FIFA eliminated ten referees from further consideration for quarterfinal and beyond games.
Included are Coulibaly of Mali, who disallowed the third US goal vs Slovenia, Larionda of Uruguay, who botched England's second goal against Germany, Lannoy of France, who sent off Kaka against Ivory Coast, and Rosetti of Italy, who allowed Argentina's first goal against Mexico.

If the assistant got that call right, he'd still be there. Tevez was so far offside he was the closest to the goal. :crazy:

I think Lannoy handled the Brazil-Ivory Coast game poorly in general. Also, I wonder who told Lannoy to caution Kaka the second time, because I don't think he saw the foul himself. But Kaka set himself up for it. He instigated his way into the first card and put his elbow up on the second one.

Larionda's favorite color is red, and he was unlucky in the England-Germany game. The ball was moving so fast and the goalie reacted so well that he was fooled. I guess the assistant couldn't tell either.
