Celtics coach Doc Rivers has decided to the stay with the team for the 2010-11 season, a league source confirmed to SI.com.
The news was first reported by The Boston Herald.
Rivers, who coached the Magic for four full seasons before taking over the Celtics in 2004, was considering taking a leave from coaching to spend time with his family.
The Celtics lost to the Lakers after seven games in the 2010 Finals, two years after Boston defeated L.A. for Rivers' first NBA championship as a coach. He has a 280-212 record over six seasons with the Celtics.
