Favourite college football game ever?
Not necessarily the best, but the one you enjoy watching the most?

Mine is the '93 Sugar Bowl, when #2 Alabama beat the stuffing out of #1 Miami 34-13 to win the championship.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1993_Sugar_Bowl

They had been 1 and 2 all season. Leading up to the game, the media was full of stories about how much faster Miami was than Alabama, how Gino Torretta (Heisman winner) was going to help them dominate, and Lamar Thomas kept running his mouth off about the speed and talent difference.

Which made "The Strip" that much sweeter. Thomas caught a pass and was headed for an 89 yard touchdown when George Teague came out of nowhere to chase him down and strip the ball, taking it back the other way. That play is still remembered by anyone who watched that game.

And Gino Torretta was never the same after that game, either.

Alabama's defense was just ferocious, a real joy to watch.

So what's your favourite game of all time?

1. Too tough to name one game, lazarus.
A couple stand out. PSU beating Miami for the NC in '87 after the 'Canes arrived in army fatigues. OSU in the NC game in '02... again, Miami.
Of course, Iowa beating GT this past January in the Orange Bowl. 50 years.

4. 2008 tOSU vs. scUM...I was at this game...
Sometimes a blow-out of the rival is sweet fun. Just to have the ability to kick back, enjoy the game, laugh for 60 minutes and root for the shutout.

Final: tOSU 42 - scUM 7

5. Fright Night -Autzen 2009
Autzen Stadium became a chamber of horrors on Halloween night for USC as the Trojans suffered their worst loss by far under Pete Carroll at the hands of Oregon, 47-20. As for the slim chance that USC, which entered Saturday No. 5 in the BCS rankings, could still advance to the BCS championship game in Pasadena, much less extend their streak of seven straight Pac-10 titles to eight, I see dead people.

Fans arrived at Autzen clad in black shirts

And that was only one ominous sign. The Trojans found themselves deep in the woods, far from home, on a dark and stormy night ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0zHnz_2ouo

It was horrifying.

In most slasher flicks it is the victim we see running. Saturday night in Eugene it was exactly the opposite. Oregon redshirt freshman tailback LaMichael James rushed for a career-high 183 yards... The Ducks ran for a scary yardage total of 391 yards -- 233 in the second half alone -- versus a Trojan defense that only three weeks ago was considered among the nation's best.

"It was a terrible night for us," Pete Carroll said.

It was, in fact, the most horrifying evening in Carroll's eight-plus seasons at USC. The ghoul scene in Eugene spawned the worst margin of defeat (27 points), the most points allowed (47) and the most yardage surrendered (613) of the Carroll era. Prior to Saturday evening, a Carroll-coached USC team had only suffered one double-digit point loss, a 27-16 defeat at Notre Dame in 2001, his inaugural season.

Of course, this Halloween tale is only a ghost story from the Trojan perspective. As far as the Ducks are concerned, this was Dawn of the (Previously Left for) Dead...

6. that was a fun game
my dad got his MBA from USC, so he's a big fan. I enjoyed last season very much. The ascendancy of my beloved Bama coupled with USC's fall from grace made it a great year to talk football with him.

it gets funny looks at the gym here in Australia. Leaves the Aussies scratching their heads.

(Halloween's just beginning to catch on, no one knows a thing about "gridiron," and sadly, we don't anything like have college sports as they're played in the states).

Football or "Footy" here is Rugby Union or its far more boring version Rugby League (yes, one type of rugby CAN be more boring and pointless than another).

AFL (Aussie rules) on the other hand is a pretty cool game.

8. Hey, depa. I see that Massholi has a shot at transferring to Ol' Miss.
Seems they have the graduate program that would allow him to play one more year. He could play immediately. You got to admit, it's a parallel move. From one cheating conference to another. I bet those frat houses in Oxford are taking inventory of computers and stereo equipment as we speak.

9. Oregon sent the release papers today
Good riddance but hey, at least the guy got his degree. Reports are that he could enter their graduate program in social work!

We're none too worried- we've got a better prospect:

Darron Thomas

Thomas has a strong arm, but it’s his speed, athleticism and scramble-ability that set him apart. He runs the 20-yard dash in 2.85 seconds, is a member of the program’s “Iron Club” (for totaling more than 1,000 pounds in the power clean, squat and bench press) and is one of three players to earn “Oregon Elite” distinction for overall performance in the weight room and in speed and agility drills.

11. Never saw, of course, but named game of the century C6H0
The 1921 Centre vs. Harvard football game, played October 29, 1921, was a college football game between Centre College and Harvard University. Centre beat Harvard 6-0 in the game, in what is widely considered one of the greatest upsets in college football history. Centre, in Danville KY, had about 300 students. Still talked about in Danville. Harvard had won 4 National Championships in the ten years previous, Harvard entered the game undefeated, and had not lost a game since the 1918 season. You used to see the "Impossible Formula" C6H0 all over the Bluegrass. A bit of tradition in these parts. Football is football, no matter when.

12. Oregon State vs USC- The giant killers part 2 and 3
I was at both the 2006 and 2008 games when the men of Troy came up to Corvallis and lost. Greatest time I've ever had as a sports fan, no question.
