1. Good. Lying arrogant asshole deserves to be held accountable
Him and Barry Bonds are the two I really want made examples of.

2. Priorities
I'm not a fan but there is better things to do and people to indict. How many Bush officials lied to Congress? How about BP?

3. I know...if they actively pursued those other SOB's I'd be happy with them
going after Roger...as it is, I can't care. I'd almost like for him to beat this just because they're such wimps on going after real criminals.

4. liars are liars and two wrongs don't make a right.
I also think these proscecutors only have limited authority--they can't just go out there and say---I know Bush lied and I want to indict him. The evidence that Clemens lied is pretty straight forward. Prosecuting civilians is a much easier deal than prosecuting an ex- president you know. Look at the fact that Nixon never paid for his crimes once he left office.
Sorry. A scumbag is a scumbag and just because there is not justice for all is not a good reason to let every thing pass.
Would I like to see Bush and company prosecuted. Sure. But ITS NEVER HAPPENING. I would LOVE to see Roger get deserved jail time.

5. I don't even care about him going to jail
I think we have far too many non-violent offenders in jail already. But I'd like to see every win he got during the time he was on steroids nullified, a ban on entering the Hall of Fame, and all awards rescinded.

7. Lying to congress is the crime
I was talking more about Bush officials who have actually lied to congress--Condi Rice off the top of my head. Though I'm sure they probably could get Bush too. I also brought up BP because they really did lie about the impact of the oil spill to congress. Nixon is not a good example because he got a full and unconditional pardon from Gerald Ford because Nixon gave him the job.

I would like to see some priorities and I don't care what happens to Clemons one way or the other. He is small fish.

8. Condi may have testified under oath, but actually very few of the * admin
testified under oath. There was always something worked out (wink-wink) so that they could just answer questions.

9. I realize that
That is why I was very careful to choose her. I'm well aware such as things like for example, the 9/11 Commission where Bush & Cheney made it so they didn't have to say an oath in order to testify.

Hey! I'm not implying anything. The last thing I want is this thread redirected to the conspiracy dungeon. :hide:

10. That would be a first! I don't think we have anything dumped in the gungeon, either.
I think during the first six years of the * admin, none of the people that testified from that admin were under oath. And then when congress changed hands in 07, they just refused to testify in front of congress.

Pretty interesting pattern and one that really defies the part of the constitution which specifies "checks and balances"

12. I think we should try
Edited on Thu Aug-19-10 03:26 PM by JonLP24
to get a thread moved to either dungeons!

OK--Roger Clemons with a gun--that he has a license for--He caught up to the boys from the grassy knoll and killed them within 3 hours then buried them in the damned desert, unmarked graves out past Terlingua. I can't prove it but I bet if you search his closet, you will see he still has the shovel.

On edit-As I'm not a really creative person I stole that from a movie.

15. Well, Clemens isn't a bankster, oil or coal mining exec., or a member of the Bush administration
So he's screwn.

The cowardly Congress has no problem going after Clemens type of fish.

Funny thing is- according to the story, they all but told Clemens "Don't come up here and talk a bunch of shit."

really difficult for a lot of people...and hopefully he would expose a lot of the hypocrisy of upper management in all this.
