Ryder Cup going down to the wire
Edited on Mon Oct-04-10 09:04 AM by muriel_volestrangler
Currently 13-10 to Europe; of the remaining matches, 1 looks fairly good for Europe, 3 for the USA, so it'll go down to the last match. A 14-14 draw would mean the USA retain the cup, so Europe will need half a point from the last match, and Europe lead it by 2 holes, with 5 holes to go.

Live text coverage: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2010/oct/04/ryder-cup-day-four-live

Correction: USA won one more, so now 13-11, Europe up in 2 remaining (including the last pair), USA in 2.

But Ricky Fowler comes back from 4 down to halve his match! Now it's 13.5/13.5, with just the final match, and Europe just 1 up in that with 3 holes to go...

1. Unfortunately Hunter Mahan
played poorly the last two holes. I could have never handled it myself. I feel sorry for him. He's going to feel like he cost us the cup.

4. FORE!!!

Check that photo from the weekend's Ryder Cup action. No, it's not staged or Photoshopped. That's really Tiger Woods hitting a golf ball straight at the camera.

How'd it happen? By mistake. The cameraman, Mark Pain of the Daily Mail, was in the proper position on the 18th hole when Woods flat-out duffed his shot. The ball hit Pain's camera and dropped to the ground. But unlike many instances when Woods and caddy Stevie Williams have taken issue with photographers, Tiger had nothing to say here. He knew he was in the wrong, not Pain.
