1. Might still happen ..
in fact, it's almost set up for at least one of them getting in. I think Auburn loses to Alabama. The Ducks could still lose too. And look at Stanford #6..the highest ranking ever for them. Two Pac-10 teams in the top 6 is awfully impressive.

2. Boise vs. TCU in the BCS National Championship!
Last year wasn't for all the marbles.
It can really happen if Oregon loses to Arizona and Auburn loses to Alabama or the SEC championship.
I think TCU will make it in.

Yes, indeed, El. And Iowa is full of them. The judges vote is THE worst state vote in history.
But I digress. Arizona beat Oregon? This is your belief?

13. No. It's a home game.
But most PAC 10 teams have screwed up sometime this year.

14. Let's put it this way, El.
I don't bet for $. But I would bet my mortgage on Oregon against Arizona. OSU. A different story.

15. Oklahoma State? Sure.
Or did you mean Oregon State?
Or that little team from Ohio?

16. Oregon State.
But the Bucks did kick their ass in the Rose. Give a good DC a month and you can stop the Ducks.

19. Yesterday Oregon looked sort of flat
Edited on Sun Nov-07-10 10:23 PM by Upton
for 2 quarters. It was still only 25-16 midway through the third, but the Ducks got rolling, scoring the last 28 points of the game, as UW predictably wore down.

That's not unusual, the scoring big late, they did it to Tenn. in Knoxville, Stanford, USC just about every other opponent this year. It's the way the Ducks practice, it what they want to do. Why should TCU or any DC in the nation be any different? I see no way anybody can keep up with Oregon for 4 quarters.

3. That would be interesting
TCU is the only team to defeat Boise State in the last 3 years and Boise State is the only team to defeat TCU in the last 2 years.

4. That's hardly a surprise
considering they virtually play no one else of note. I don't want to see a NC game in which the two participants got there by playing soft schedules.

5. Boise State played Oregon twice in those 3 years
Personally, I just want to see the two best teams. I'm not sure who that is but BSU is a very physical team and Kellen Moore is easily one of the best QBs in the nation.

6. Serious question..
do you honestly think Boise would be undefeated if they played a full conference schedule in the Pac-10, SEC, or Big Ten? Just a simple yeas or no please.

7. How 'bout a fuck no.
We dismantle Michigan State but come within a dropped pass of losing to lowly Indiana. I'll say it, again. In the majors, you have to be up every week. ISU-Nebraska, anyone. Mizzou-Tech. A&M-Okie. I rest my fucking case.

11. Complicated question
They haven't made past Nevada on the road yet so they may not even make it through their own conference undefeated. I'll say it would be more difficult in those conferences--depending on who they would schedule non-conference games. Also depends on the schedule they were facing. If they replaced Ole Miss in the SEC West I'd have serious doubts. In the Big Ten if they have all the top teams scheduled--I'd have serious doubts as well. I'll say they could. It is tough to figure because they only play so many games and they don't play each other. Tough to say how they would compete. I was hung up on the Big Ten and Wisconsin because Arizona State played well enough to win, on the road, but I have no delusions that Boise State would defeat ASU 99 times out of 100 simply because BSU has discipline.

12. This is the argument, Jon. I don't get it.
A lot of folks are saying that Ohio State has played nobody. But at the time, the Miami game was THE biggest game in the land. It's a very fluid season. Very good teams lose and it changes their psyche for the remainder of the sked. Missouri. A primo example. They are finished.

17. Ohio State is a very good team because they recruit well
I don't get hung up on who played who or didn't play. I just try to pay attention to how good a team is.

I try to look at it this way, I don't have much of a problem with an undefeated ACC,SEC,BIG12,PAC10, team getting in over a mid-major. However if the BCS is open to everyone then what does a Boise St or TCU have to do to make it? In my mind, it is schedule tough non-conference games and go undefeated multiple seasons. Which is why you see me focus my argument on Boise St even though I think TCU is an excellent team on both sides of the ball with a very talented quarterback. If the BCS is open to everyone, what do they have to do? If there is nothing they can do you might as well bar mid-majors or go with a much better system.

18. We'll never know , will we?
The only answer is a play-off. But that's not going to happen, because of the $$ power of the bowls. And since I have the opportunity to leave this cold-ass state in January for Florida or someplace warm, I ain't arguing. Selfish? Hell. yeah.

25. Indiana, Michigan and NU
The tiebreakers scare me a little. If MSU wins out, Wisconsin wins out, and OSU wins out, the team higher in the BCS Standings would win the tiebreaker. Im confident Wisconsin would still lead in the human polls, but with OSU having Iowa, PSU, and Michigan left on their schedule, I could see the computers giving OSU a decent sized bump. If Iowa wins out instead of OSU, MSU gets the tiebreaker because Iowa would be eliminated with 2 overall losses.

In the end, I want MSU To lose whenever, because then the Badgers win out and they win the Big Ten.
