3. Blackshirts prepare for Oklahoma's frenetic offensive attack
"The Sooners move fast -- sometimes too fast for replays...

"...Consider how many plays Oklahoma's fast-break offense ran last Saturday against Oklahoma State.

Try 107.

"That's insane," said Husker reserve defensive end Kevin Thomsen.

"Sixty-two Sooner passes. Forty-five runs. A bunch of Cowboys gasping for air...

"...So when examining the challenges the Blackshirts face this week in the Big 12 championship game, Oklahoma's quick-trigger offense is near the top of the list."

4. Husker QB Taylor Martinez still 'Iffy'
QB Martinez takes 'a couple reps'
November 29, 2010 at 6:45PM CST

Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez "took a couple reps" during Monday's practice, head coach Bo Pelini said.

"He did all right," the coach said.

Asked if Martinez is bothered more by his right ankle sprain or turf toe on his left foot, Pelini said, "It's a combination."

Pelini indicated that a decision on the position may not be made until Saturday.

Martinez, a redshirt freshman, has been injured since the second quarter of the Oct. 30 Missouri game. Sophomore Cody Green since has started two games, including Friday's victory over Colorado...

7. ...still unsure
"Husker coaches were still unsure on Tuesday about who will start at quarterback, just as they very well could be come Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, maybe even the greater part of Saturday.

Asked if there was some set time that coaches wanted to know whether it would be Taylor Martinez or Cody Green starting in the season's biggest game, Bo Pelini said: "What time does the game start?"

Point taken.

"We'll do whatever is necessary," Watson said. "Bo and I are on the same page. We build our plans. Both guys can equally do what we want to get done in a plan. We always have Plan A, and Plan B always is ready. Always."

11. Have the Nebraska Cornhuskers turned into the Oakland Raiders?
Today's Whimperings & Rantings From The Oklahoman

The quarterback shuns teammates and makes cellphone calls during games. The coach has gone stark-raving mad. Are we sure this is Nebraska the Oklahoma Sooners will face in Saturday's Big 12 title game?

BY JENNI CARLSON Oklahoman

The starting quarterback got benched during the big game, then stood sullenly alone on the sidelines. Several weeks later, he went to the locker room for treatment during a game but apparently phoned home instead.

The head coach had a near meltdown, unleashing his fury on the referees and his quarterback, then chasing after one of the officials before going to the middle of the field for the postgame handshake.

The big boss called out the coach in the media before having a do-better talk with him.

Sounds like the Oakland Raiders.

It's actually the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

21. Props to the Sooners.
Huskers not yet ready for prime time. They looked really bush league tonight. The did win 10 games this season, but never inspired solid confidence. Funny last year in the Big !2...

Hope we will get to play the Sooners again somewhere down the line in a few years. It's been a great rivalry.

25. Sorry, Spiral.
One final hosing by the awful Big 12. A rematch with Washington? I guess the Big 12 didn't want a Big Ten infomercial. Sucks. I was looking forward to it.
