5. How many Super Bowl rings do the Eagles have again?
Unh hunh, yeah, right.

If they don't get to the SB AND win it this year, they ain't ever going to.

Just sayin'

7. The Giants should have been playing some sort of prevent defense
when they were up 31-10 with about 8 minutes left. So it takes the Eagles 4 minutes or so to go down and score..so what? Instead they keep on blitzing and allow a quick long TD pass. After the score, the Giants coaching staff wasn't even thinking the Eagles might try an onside kick...hard to figure why not. Then, they were still in control at 31-24, Eagles out of TO, Giants have 2 and 6, only realistically needing one more first down, and there's a false start penalty. It was just a complete meltdown..players and coaches alike.

8. NFL- the bigger the asshole ..
The more successful. If there are two more loathsome people than Vick and DeShaun Jackson, I don't want to know: :puke:

9. Ahem. I am a Mike Vick fan. And I love you all.
I am now a grizzling Hokie, and it's impossible to explain what a phenomenal positive influence Mike Vick had on the football program at Virginia Tech. His career there continues to give Virginia Tech its pick of the best quarterbacks in Tidewater, and Vick acts as an informal adviser to most of them. Virginia Tech football players now liberally sprinkle the NFL, meaning that their college experience is properly preparing them for professional careers.

Here's a nice thing I'll bet you didn't know Mike Vick did. When he was shooting to stardom in the NFL at Atlanta, Mike convinced the Falcons to give ACC champion quarterback Bryan Randall a chance. Randall made the practice squad for a few months, securing himself good contacts within the NFL with Vick's backing, and bounced around a little even though Randall wasn't considered enough, somehow. Finally, this year, Randall landed on both feet in the Indoor Football League, where he threw for 2,000 yards, scored 70 touchdowns, and won league MVP. Now he's got another shot at the NFL and you can guarantee Mike Vick will be pulling for him.

Yeah, what he did was inexcusable and I know for some of you it's unforgivable. But he did his time and his personality is complex enough to be both good and bad off the field.

On the field, as I have been saying since 1999, he should be wearing a cape.

So you can hate Mike Vick all you want, but you have to hate him the same way you hate Ty Cobb, Pete Rose, O.J. Simpson, and other sports geniuses whose mastery of the field did not translate to a mastery of their personal lives.

10. Ty Cobb, Pete Rose, O.J. Simpson
I have to hate Vick the same way as the 3 you mentioned?

Cobb? Nasty SOB but I don't ever remember him hanging dogs until they were dead.

Rose? You're kidding right---you equate his gambling to Vick's drowning and electrocution of his dogs?

Simpson? Wow! You throw in the wife butcher to this debate? Nice try.

Oh but you sprinkle in a nice little story he did Randall---ahhhh--- ain't he a peach.

Oh BTW: This dog ain't a fan.

12. I'm a 49ers fan..
and during their glory years, the 49ers chief competition in the playoffs often came from Dallas or New York. I dislike both teams. So, prior to Vick, whenever the Eagles played either the Giants or Cowboys, I rooted for the Eagles. That's all changed now, the last two weeks I've found myself rooting for the Cowboys (something I thought I'd never do) and the Giants.

I now hope the Eagles lose every game they play in the worst way imaginable. I'm sure many, many others have similar feelings. I don't have to forgive Vick and I'm sick and tired of having him pushed on me by his supporters and the NFL. I simply hate animal abusers and no amount of BS about all the so called good deeds Vick has performed or how he's changed his life (yeah sure) is going to change my mind.

13. +100000
Throwing a football well or going to jail does not change the fact that what Vick did indicates a sociopathic personality. But hey, he wins, so being a cold sick person is okay..:barf:

15. My sentiments exactly
I am nauseated by the way the media is glorifying this guy. He's a psychopath, and studies have shown that that can not be cured. But he's playing well, and in their eyes, that's all that matters.

11. Haters gonna hate.
Anyone who talks about the collapse on the Giants part, don't forget they were basically handed a touchdown at the end of the first half on a fumble that should've been ruled an incomplete pass and what could've been an Eagles touchdown drive led to another Giants score when DeSean was ruled to have fumbled and Reid didn't challenge. The Eagles were not nearly as good for most of this game as they were in the last meeting, but they still had to make all their plays late in the game for this to happen and they did. 6 in a row over NY, Go Birds.

17. At halftime, I thought, "Well, let's see if they can hold up, if they don't get complacent."
Edited on Sun Dec-19-10 11:10 PM by rocktivity
Even the Fox Sports guys weren't impressed--they made a point of saying that Philly could come back should not be taken lightly.

Watching Green Bay vs. New England now--if THEY hold on to win, this will indeed to be a Sunday to remember!

18. I turned the game off after the score was 31-10 - I KNEW my eagles
would never win ...

Later, I turned to another channel to see the other scores, and heard that Giants fans were "distraught"...and found out why.

Great game, Eagles! :)
