Heat players cry like babies after loss...

All of these tough losses are apparently getting to some of the Miami Heat players.

After the Heat lost their fourth straight game on Sunday, some of the players were reportedly very emotional in the locker room.

According to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Spoelstra said: "There are a couple of guys crying there in the locker room." Brian Windhorst of ESPN also confirmed the report

I might be able to understand this if it was a playoff elimination loss or something...but a regular season game?...C'mon

Time to man up boys..

1. I like to see my team hurt after a loss
It is the don't care attitude that concerns me. Though I think the coach had no business saying that to the media but this is something any coach wants to see from their team.

2. This guy agrees with you about the coach..
Also: really, Erik Spoelstra? Bad move on your part to leak that particular piece of info. I get what you’re trying to do. You’re trying to show that your guys care, that they’re not taking these losses lightly. But this is so counterproductive, it’s ridiculous. Your team, in addition to being labeled as a collection of front runners and traitors, will also now have to deal with the “crybaby” tag

4. I call it Steinbrenner Syndrome
Believing that putting together the best team that money can buy exempts you from actually WORKING AT being the best team that money can buy!

5. I bet they have a new coach before the playoffs.
I think Spoelstra doomed himself when he let that bit of info out of the locker room. I don't see his players being very happy with his candor - some things should stay behind closed doors. Given their inability to beat other contenders so far, he is the obvious candidate for dismissal.

7. I doubt they really did cry...I think he just tried to be emphatic that they
took it seriously...but it was stupid because the media is running with it.

8. If that's the case, he definitely needs to go.
How does exposing your team to ridicule by making shit up help motivate it?
I don't think anybody was accusing them of indifference to losing.
(OK, somebody probably was...:eyes:)

9. He's a novice...

thats' the way the media works...he's probably gone soon, and then the heat will do better and they'll all say it was the coaching, and then they bow out early in the playoffs because it really wasn't the coach, but three primadonnas who aren't focused.

10. Focus and/or fundamentals
according to pundits in the Bay Area. It makes sense you can't just let five guys play the pro game -- no matter how talented -- and expect them to win consistently without following fundamentals or having developed a focused game plan. Whatever the approach, it's not working as they want it to and the frustration is starting to show. Question is, can they ditch the big egos?
