Red Sox' Ortiz, Orioles' Gregg involved in Fenway brawl
In case you missed it: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110708&content_id=21613162&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb

Ortiz could have been ejected after walking towards the mound a few pitches earlier. Was he even warned? Then his charge towards the mound would have warranted immediate ejection despite what Gregg shouted. Wish I knew exactly what that was.

1. I saw that live, it was actually pretty funny
The rest of this series should be interesting.

2. I think he was warned

because the ump is running up behind Ortiz to stop him. Maybe not though.

I saw this on Youtube. It was funny to see the ump run up there to stop them but once Ortiz started swinging the ump wisely stepped back.

edit-According to hughee the ump tossed Gregg while the ball was live.

3. I don't think pitchers are allowed to leave the mound to bark at hitters
as they are running out a ball.

4. I also would like to know what the major asshole Gregg said also...
What a piece of work. emotions run high, but after supposedly people should calm down he was still spouting off to reporters a few hours later...what a jackass.

5. He was bitching about the Sox salary.
he had a chip on his shoulder all along, and was looking for trouble. When I first saw the clips I was grateful for Gregg that none of Ortiz' punches landed, but after hearing him whine on and on about the Sox I'm now kind of bummed Papi didn't connect with one of them.

6. Yeah, and it was pretty obvious he was trying to hit Papi, just
as the jackass was yesterday...Showalter is a great leader, don't you think? I'm curious as to what exactly he said to papi when Papi popped out...I don't think that was ever mentioned anywhere.

7. He yelled at him that he should run to first
Papi apparently does not run out fly balls.
