6 more players bow out of All-Star game
PHOENIX (AP)—Baseball could field an All-Star team just from the players who will be missing from Tuesday’s game.

Tampa Bay’s David Price became the latest star to withdraw, citing turf toe, and five other starting pitchers were declared ineligible because they played Sunday.

The Yankees’ CC Sabathia, the Rays’ James Shields, the Detroit Tigers’ Justin Verlander, the Seattle Mariners’ Felix Hernandez and the Philadelphia Phillies’ Cole Hamels all were knocked out because of their starts. Sabathia had been bypassed when rosters were announced a week ago, but replaced Shields when the Tampa Bay pitcher appeared Sunday.

Replacing them as All-Stars were the Yankees’ David Robertson, the Texas Rangers’ Alexi Ogando, the Seattle Mariners’ Michael Pineda, the Toronto Blue Jays’ Ricky Romero and the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Kevin Correia....

:wtf: This is not good for baseball.

Philadelphia third baseman Placido Polanco missed the Phillies’ final six games heading into the All-Star break because of a bad back.

17. The Buccos are a game back of both Milwaukee and St. Louis at the break
Your team, meanwhile, sits five games below .500 and trails the World Champions by eight and one-half games (and the other expansion team by five and one-half).

So where exactly are those pigs flying?

19. Actually, it was Seton Hall
:P

The point being, it's hardly unrealistic for fans a team that's one game out of its division lead at the break to be thinking about the Series, no matter how colossally awful that team may have been in years past.

13. And, Boy Do i Hate That
Talk about a ridiculous overreaction. It would have been much simpler to have simply stated that the game is a 9 inning exhibition game FOR THE FANS! Most fans already knew the game wasn't for real, so it wouldn't have been shock to most fans, and then the "for the fans" thing would have made the rest happy.

But, no! Bud has to muck up the works by doing exactly the wrong thing.

14. I hate it with the heat of a thousand suns.
An exhibition game should NOT decide home field for the World Series.

That is the all-time stupidest fucking decision in the history of stupid things.

Matt Cain pitched tonight. So he's out. I think Atlanta Braves’ Craig Kimbrel replaced him.

That is 16 players total out - so far.
