WTF???
Edited on Wed Jul-13-11 08:39 PM by Auggie
One night after closing an All-Star Game win, Brian Wilson stepped out in a spandex tuxedo at Wednesday’s ESPY Awards, leaving little to the imagination. Waving to fans and posing for photographers, The Beard strutted the red carpet with an orange bow tie, orange socks, and a skin-tight penguin suit, proving that not even the lobster risotto can keep this guy out of a bodysuit.

WTF???

"Yes, this fool wore a spandex tuxedo and carried a cane. He looked straight up like a combination of Mr. Peanut and the cartoon version of Judge Doom from Roger Rabbit..." LarryBrownSports.com (LINK: http://larrybrownsports.com/everything-else/brian-wilson-espys-outfit-was-nuts/77145)

Wilson...

EPIC FAIL

1. Hey! I'm glad he's your oddball, not mine.
Maybe he's trying to get a date with Lady Gaga.

3. Hmmm. What does Mr. Wilson have in his fruit basket?
Looks like a banana. And a couple of grapes. Gee, Upton. I can't imagine you participating in a fucking Giant's thread. What a surprise.

7. Its like he's trying to hard to be different.....
I do get the "march to the beat of the different drummer" thing (and that relief pitchers are all crazy) but I think this is too much, too over the top.

8. Exactly...
Go too far and "intimidating" becomes "annoying," giving the opposition extra incentive to win.

10. He's trying to outdo Al Hrabosky---
Especially with that phony tirade in the dugout. At least he made the team on merit though, unlike one Baby Huey.

Edited on Thu Jul-14-11 12:15 PM by Auggie
I forgot what that was from... Disney?

On edit: Here it is...

Baby Huey is a gigantic and naïve duckling cartoon character. He was created by Martin Taras for Paramount Pictures' Famous Studios, and became a Paramount cartoon star during the 1950s. LINK: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baby_Huey

I can't imagine what they'd want him for. Is he a hitting guru? That's what they need.

15. He's interviewing for a position of scout
Like his managerial skills he's probably adequate in that area, but this seems like Bochy wanting to give a friend a job more than anything.

17. Well then...that explains it..
I guess the Nats must be paying Werth 18 mil this year to look good, because it sure as heck isn't for his play on the field..

BA: .215

OBP: .319

SLG%: .362

WAR: 0.3

UZR: -4.2

18. Yeah no Giant ballplayer ever had a slump or played badly
Hows that record of Lincecum vs. Nats? Still has a losing record, just like the Giants do agaisnt the Nats. Why he must be overrated and overpaid.:sarcasm:
I'm so fucking tired of this stupid shit, players slump all the time. Yesterday it was Jeter is WASHED UP HE CAN'T HIT. Last year, it was DAVID ORTIZ IS AWFUL GET RID OF HIM. Look at the fact that a lot of new players are hitting poorly right now, Werth is far from alone having the worst year.
BTW, you do know that its not unusual for Werth to have much better second halfs than first. But obviously he's a complete waste. Because you know he has nothing to do with the Nats having if not the top defense...And I watched the guy single handedly win a game on July 4th- between 2RBI's , stealing in the 10th and throwing out someone at home plate a la Hunter Pence. Yep he's completely useless. Ugh. Look up from stats sometime, Upton. They almost never tell the whole story. Its not a coincidence that the Nats are a much better team this year than last, Werth is contributing in many ways...and almost any of the team members will tell you so.

20. Nats are a better team because of their pitching..
in which they rank 10th. And despite your beloved 7 year/126 mil Werth's tremendous contribution (his WAR of 0.3 is equivalent to a player who makes 1.4 mil) the Nats are still 23rd in MLB in hitting..

Enjoy the the next 6 years...as I can attest to with Aaron Rowand, giving big contracts to players who put up large numbers in hitters parks is often a mistake that becomes an albatross..
