WHAT?!? Dufner choked, but really, who cares? Once upon a time we had Tiger Woods, who is finished. Before that, we had Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Gary Player, Greg Norman, Nick Faldo, Fred Couples.

And we had Tom Watson, who should have won the British Open two years ago at age 60. Don't tell me that Keegan Bradley and Jason Dufner are in that stratosphere. Golf sucks right now. Watch this, and tell me this isn't greatness: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHkQ8jfSt5g

1. other than that chip on 15, Bradley looked pretty dang good today

He had some great moments -- the putt on 17 after the triple bogey--that was huge. The approach on 16 in the playoff right after Dufner almost holed out for an eagle. The approach on 12 that left him about four feet for an eagle.

Not many golfers are going to be as good as Jack Nicklaus, of course, but Bradley now has a major title at 25. Of the players you've mentioned, only Woods, Nicklaus, and Player can say that. Maybe he never wins another, but he's already got as many as Fred Couples :)

3. Yes, but Fred picked the pocket of many on skins.
Greatest skins player ever. But even Fred would lose to this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkT1h9dEEAo

5. I knew last year that Keegan Bradley had unbelievable talent
Edited on Mon Aug-15-11 09:38 PM by Awsi Dooger
I walked with his group the final two rounds of the Miccosukee Nationwide event in Miami. Bradley was the 36 hole leader but didn't score particularly well on the weekend. The other two guys in the pairing -- Jason Gore and David Hearn -- were battling for the victory and there was obvious tension between them. Bradley smiled and mostly stayed out of their way but it was obvious he had more game than either one. On the long par 3 #17 he pulled a mid iron into the wind and I scoffed at the club selection from my spot just behind the tee, thinking "that's not enough club." Seconds later my mouth was ajar as Bradley blasted a towering shot that ignored the wind and actually finished slightly beyond the green.

BTW, on a major golf site a couple of posters last week said they took 125/1 on Bradley to win the PGA.

Actually it should be outlawed.

Simple rule change: No club can be used that touches any part of the body other than the hands.

No more belly putters. No more long chest putters.

8. GAC that is correct
It is wrong to have the putter touch the body. Did you remember when Snead putted croquet style in the sixties and they outlawed that.

10. The Rule Now States. . .
. . .that both feet must be on the same side of the target line. Simple rule change, and they outlawed croquet putting.

Simple rule change, "can't touch anything but the hands" would do that.

Here's the rub. The USGA is AWFULLY careful not to antagonize the equipment manufacturers. That's why square grooves, COR, and ball velocity have been so hard to get regulated.

9. Jack Mahaffey, Hubert Green, Wayne Grady,
Shaun Micheel, and Julius Boros would tell you that sometimes the "little guys" win, even during these great players years of dominance.

As great as Arnold Palmer, Nick Faldo and Fred Couples were, they never won the PGA Championship. Greg Norman has choke jobs that make Dufner's pale in comparison.

Personally, I like to see new names in the top 10, as long as they're playing great golf. There's a lot of great young talent on the tour.

11. Keegan Bradley a huge Howard Stern fan
He was on the show by phone and said he cannot be comfortable at a tournament unless he hears at least some of the show before playing. He ended the interview with a 'bababooey' to everyone.
I like this guy.
He still needs to ditch that belly putter though.
