First ever Baltimore Grand Prix this weekend!
I can't wait to go and see cars screaming around Camden Yards, the Inner Harbor, and downtown Baltimore. I'm going Friday for the practices and the American LeMans qualifying and then Sunday for the main IRL Indy Car race. I think I'll have to spend tonight purging my camera of any unwanted pics to make room for the thousand pictures I'm going to take this weekend. Most will probably come on Friday because the grandstands are open to anyone and I can move around and go to different parts of the track. On Sunday, I just have general admission tickets and no access to the grandstands, so it's find a spot to stand at all race or walk around in the infield and paddock (garage) area.

Anyone else going to the first ever Baltimore Grand Prix?

2. I've been to Indy Car races on ovals, but never road or Grand Prix races
The sight of race cars zipping between tall buildings is going to be amazing.

4. It has absolutely brought the downtown to a standstill. No bus service, no light rail
It's damn near impossible to get around. A traffic fucking nightmare.

5. That's one of the negatives...
though they manage it every year in Monaco. Depends on the priority.

7. Isn't everyone in Monaco a billionaire? I don't think they rely on the bus to get to work.

6. Yeah, that was a given
I figured that would happen the second I saw the track layout. Essentially cutting off downtown from South Baltimore. Though light rail still works, they just split it in two. A northern half and a southern half.
