Come take a dip w/ me and swim in da Nile. The waters are cool and refreshing although some small hazards might be found.

1. Sorry, Botany.
But please include 'interim' in Mr. Fickell's title from this point on. I know you're high on him, but no way TOSU keeps him beyond this season.

2. Fickle was bad along w/ the rest of the team but one ....
.... game will not make or break his chances for staying on as the head coach. However
if they keep dropping the ball, missing wide open receivers, and not getting the ball carrier
before he hits the corner, or playing solid corner back they will lose to Indiana and everybody
else on their schedule. That was not a very good Miami team too. Harris had 2 ints and one fumble.

The defense played really well for the most part and showed heart the whole game but the offense
was MIA.

Although he is older Joe Bauserman is in for a brutal time here in Columbus this week.

Time for some old fashioned T formation football

3. Miami's Defense was outstanding...
They had 8 starters misssing against Maryland last week---suspended.

But you're right about both offenses...not very good except for the Miami runningback.

4. What was up at the end of the game?
I was shocked that OSU didn't make any attempt to extend the game by using their time-outs once Miami has the ball inside the 10. I think that really helped them score the final TD - why bust your butt on defense when your coach is going to let the other team run out the clock?

It's early but Wisconsin and Nebraska seem to have the inside track on the conference title...

5. Deer in headlights time but at that point the game was ...
.... over and I think Luke was feeling overwhelmed.
