Jake Plummer wishes Tim Tebow would cut down on the religion talk
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/11/21/jake-plummer-wishes-tim-tebow-would-cut-down-on-the-religion-talk/related

Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow is a Christian, as he rarely misses an opportunity to say. Former Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer says he’s heard it enough from Tebow that he doesn’t need to hear it any more.

In an interview with 910-AM in Phoenix, Plummer said that he thinks highly of the way Tebow is winning games in Denver, but he wishes Tebow would cool it on turning post-game interviews into an opportunity to proselytize.

1. Go Jake!
If Teblow was prostelytizing about his Muslim faith, he never would have made it to the pros.

7. This..
Quarterback JAKE PLUMMER, accused of felony sex abuse, agreed to a plea bargain yesterday under which he received two years' probation. Plummer, who was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals out of Arizona State, was accused of groping four women in March at a nightclub in Tempe, Ariz. He faced four felony counts of sex abuse that could have led to eight years in prison. But Plummer instead pleaded no contest yesterday to one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct and guilty to one misdemeanor assault count that was in the original criminal complaint. Judge GREGORY MARTIN of Maricopa County Superior Court sentenced Plummer to two years' probation, fined him $1,020 and ordered him to perform 100 hours of community service.

Remember the thread you started about freedom of speech and porn? Well, lets continue with that theme only with a bit of a variation...

If you are offended by Tebow: THEN DON'T WATCH HIM!!

Btw Taverner, you claim to be a free speech absolutist...I'm now getting the distinct impression that only applies to speech you approve of.

44. I don't care that he's religious. I dislike that he's such a douchecanoe about it.
To put this in terms you'll get: Steve Young is the mormoniest mormon that ever mormoned, but he keeps his magic underpants to himself and threw the damned football.

If Timmy Tebow wants to be a preacher he can quit his job and go do that, or he can do it when he retires. There's certainly precedent for both. Violating the terms of his invitation into America's living rooms is presumptuous and rude, he's not being asked in to preach, he's being asked in to be a terrible quarterback. He needs to spend less time ostentatiously praying and more time practicing with his receivers.

17. It is offensive to you maybe.
But not to most Christians.
One of the bases of evangelism is this passage:
Matthew 28:19-20 is “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”

Now I am a poor evangelist, but I hold no grudge against those who are.

Edited on Mon Nov-21-11 10:26 PM by HuckleB
If that bothers you, then stop pushing baseless fictions upon others.

The world will move forward once people leave those fictions behind.

Second, most Christians grew up believing that they should show their by example, not by bullshit drama.

FUCK TEBOW'S BULLSHIT DRAMA! It's nothing but egotistical nonsense.

Game over.

33. Why?
No one has to listen to his post-game interview. I get sick and tired of hearing musicians (liberal and conservative) discussing politics at shows I pay to attend (to listen to their music). Same thing with Hollywood. But I respect everyone's right to do so. To demand those with views opposing your own ti just shut up is the very definition of arrogance.

28. I wish we had a LIKE button
Because I agree with so many here. Let Tebow be as Christian as he wants but quit using major network TV to push it on everyone else. Just like the Bible verses under his eyes in college; he did it because he knew the cameras would be on him and the rule changed because of it (not to mention that he was at a taxpayer funded institution and we have a separation of church and state in this country).

Hey, I go to church every Sunday but I don't use my workplace to prosletyze and push my faith on others. I don't do that anywhere. Religion is private.

James 2:24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.

then why doesn't he go out there at half-time and plant a cross in the middle of the field and have himself nailed to it. He could then have himself burned at the cross too.
