And by lost, I mean getting royally spanked!! From a Philly fan, I'd just like to say congratulations San Diego fans...you guys played an excellent game today!!

2. Who's talking about the Eagles?
Edited on Sun Oct-02-05 05:25 PM by friesianrider
And we're hardly getting beaten to a pulp like the Pats did...god damn. They got massacred. What was the score? 41 to 17 or something pathetic like that?

3. Something like 34-17
and you Eagles fans have got to be the most arrogant fans (next to Red Sox fans) I've ever seen.

4. Exactly!
Patriots suck ass. And Patriots fans brag INCESSANTLY as if they're the only team in the world which is half-bad, which makes it more fun to watch when you get spanked by a so-so team at your own stadium.

5. Really? Cause I don't do that--could you please point me
to a Pats fan on this board that has ever put down another team (except as a joke)? I don't remember us Pats fans pissing on the Eagles after the SB last year.

6. I never said you put other teams down, what I said was...
Patriots fans brag incessantly on here, which they do. You can find at least two posts on the first page here.

How 'bout that Eagles score now?

7. Well
The Patriots started 2-2 in 2003 and still won the Superbowl so I wouldn't double click on Pointandlaugh.exe just yet.

With that being said as a Dolphin fan . . I'm enjoying my current (Although probably short) stint at the top of the AFC East. . . I might as well enjoy it for the next week . . (Note: yes I realize it's only four weeks in and we're only on top with a 2-1 record but damn it after last year I'm going to fucking enjoy it lol)

Dolphins, Carolina, and Atlanta all look good to me this season (at least, so far).

On edit: I also should have included Colts, too. :)

8. Hm
You are quite correct that the Pats got stomped today.

So when the Eagles go on a 21-game home winning streak (our last loss at home was just before Christmas in 2002) and win three Super Bowls in four years, I might actually pay attention to your opinion.

Almost isn't good enough. Send that memo to Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb.

10. Like I said...
Patriots fans brag incessantly. :eyes:

No one's talking about the Eagles - I'm talking about the Patriots. You guys are so snotty and then even when you get your asses beat down by a so-so team, it still doesn't cause you to step back and have a wee bit of humility.

Oy vey.

11. Just keep painting with that broad brush--I congratulated Chargers fans
earlier when it became real clear that they would win. Not all of us are arrogant loudmouths.

12. You're right, I am making generalizations about Pats fans.
And that's not right. But then again, you did the same about Eagles fans, so I guess we should both try not to paint with such a broad brush. :)

13. I'm making them in context of last year's SB.
I have a good memory of how much trash Eagles fans talked(not all the trash talk was theirs...we did some too). Not all of you did it, but enough did.

But if I have to hear this kind of shit every time New England loses (which, by the look of them today, may be a lot more often), then I'm not going to be able to hang around this place anymore. I already won't be able to watch ESPN for another week because the stupid-assed sportscasters won't shut up about "Is This The End For Tom Brady?" and "Will Bill Belichick Keep His Job?"

14. Well, that's still a generalization.

It's football. Everyone trash talks for their favorite team. You can debate for years which group of fans is the worst, but the fact is every team's fans talk smack. If one has trouble dealing with it, then maybe it'd be better to watch ballet or something. It's part of the game unfortunately. You probably will hear "it" everytime NE loses because they are the champs, and I personally feel that most (although not all) their fans act like they will never again lose a game, and brag a lot when they win. That automatically means you're gonna hear it when you lose. If you can have the right to brag when you win, you'll have to deal with people chiding you when you lose (particularly as badly as you did today). Don't get me wrong, you're still a good team...I'm just saying.

15. Sorry, it's been a long day...
and the Pats losing was just the icing on the shit cake. I've been a bit on edge, and normally I can take the trash talk. I guess today was different.

I think I need to go get some sleep.

Trust me, if you think we Eagles fans don't know a thing or two about losing heart-breaking, crushing games... :P

17. As an Eagles fan, the original post is unnecessary.
Particularly since I avenged the original Eagles diss thread after the Pats - Panthers game. I want to meet the Pats again in the Bowl and have a ton of respect for their team. This was inevitable, the letdown against the Panthers to gear up for the Steelers and the inevitable letdown after playing that game. The Pats are far from out of it. Expect them to go on a tear.

I readily admit the Pats deserve respect, and certainly I never said they were out of it. It's because they're the champs that it's such a big deal they got spanked as bad as they did. I'm just poking fun at them for talking so much smack then losing by this much - surely many would do the same to the Eagles (and, come to think of it, many Pats fans have done it to us). Karma's a nasty, nasty bitch sometimes.

And honestly - IT'S WEEK FOUR! :P NE fans are the ones getting all bent out of shape over getting rocked.
