1. Yup
but they still didn't cost the Angels game 2. And this game is still within reach for the Sox.

2. They cost the Angels the opportunity for game 2

which is not much different.

3. Ah, so all those plays before and after "the call" didn't matter, eh?
We could sure shorten baseball then. Just have the refs announce the winner before the game starts, and save all that air time.

5. You mean the play which was not supposed to even occur

with the winning run on base when he shouldn't have been ?

6. No, I mean the play before that, when the catcher decided the game was ove
before it was over instead of playing a complete baseball game. Sorry, it was a bad call, but a catcher sees a player running down the first base line and hasn't heard the word "Out" and he decides to roll the ball to the pitcher's mound instead of throwing to first?

The call was weak, but the Angels get no sympathy from me. They lost. They lost focus on that play, and got so upset they quit playing. Enjoy their vacation--they've earned it.

8. He didn't think the game was over

He knew the inning was over based upon the umps signals.

You obviously have a problem characterizing reality.

10. He "thought," since it wasn't.
The game is over when the umpire has called the last out. The umpire didn't call the last out. Poor little victim catcher, all oppressed and all that. He lost the game. Just like Buckner.

12. You're still in your unreality zone

The game couldn't have been over. The score was tied.

It was the last out of the inning. You do understand the difference ?

14. Inning, then. Umpire still has to call it. He didn't. Drink some reality
it's bitter, but it helps your vision.

MLB favors a team with no superstars, with a manager whose English is barely understandable, and which isn't even the most popular team in Chicago?

25. Still whining about the Cubs? My, how classy.
Can't you guys just enjoy WINNING without your perverse fascination with all things CUB?

Only losers would sit there worrying about the other team in town when they should be rejoicing for THEIR team.

It's pretty pathetic actually, White Sox fans are so devoid of identity that the only badge of honor they have is their hatred of the Cubs. At the greatest moment of a White Sox fan's life, all they can do is talk about the Cubs.

ZZZZZZ! How predictable.

32. I gotta agree with you there, and I'm a Sox fan
I always tell other Sox fans that all their venom directed at the northsiders serves to assign importance to their crosstown rivals. If you really disdain the Cubs, simply ignore them.

Nevertheless, I always get a chuckle out of the final lines to the Southside Irish song:

And when it comes to baseball, we have two favorite clubs --
They are the GO GO White Sox, and whoever plays the Cubs
