baseball trivia ?- why the sox will win

i was raised a cubs fan, but have not really paid that much attention to b-ball for a while. but i have enoyed the sox this year. hubby is a HUGE fan.
the thing that impressed me the most about the sox- they won the game the day after they clinched. they had nothing riding on the game, although cleveland did. they not only won that game, but the next 2 as well. a team that played hung over, with the b team, and won a game that meant NOTHING, just seemed to me to be unstoppable.
does anyone have stats on that day after game? or personal recollections of teams that won that game, and then won the series? it seemed like it ought to be indicative of a true winner.

free food and drinks at a tailgate party in Champaign. Getting ready to leave now and the game don't start till 6pm. I almost missed this just to be able to watch my beloved White Sox in the World Series, but I promised family members two weeks ago that we're going to the football game. I do have a pocket radio in my coat pocket..

the SOX kick ass! But...We had wonderful food at the tailgate party. They served marinated chicken breast, brats, a cucumber salad, a special type of potato salad and a spinach salad. There was 3 kinds of cheeses and salami, bread rolls, olivies, pickles, a raspberry cheese cake, a chocolate and pecan cheese cake, toffee bars, and 3 kinds of cookies. There was all kinds of special beers, wines and colas to drink too.
