1. The "B. S." rankings
Every other football organization including high school has a playoff system, what the hell so special about college?

2. no other division has 119 teams
the only way to have a playoff is by still using rankings. Who decides who's in the playoff? Basketball, which has even more teams, plays a 25-28 game schedule, and even then finding the top 64 teams creates controversy. And then they can play two games a week for three weeks. That's not possible in football, the most they can play is one game a week. so if you want a Final Four, instead of one weekend, it takes two weeks, and you'd need multiple stadiums, since, unlike basketball, the field of play is degraded by play.

So they pull it off in Div II, but there are only 35 Div II teams, much easier to sort than 119.

the only way to sort, in Div I, is with polls, it's what Div II and Div III do, they have selection committees. And then most teams would only get 8 games, instead of ten, and some would end up with 12. As it is now, there are 25 teams that can win a bowl game, 50 schools get to go to a bowl game with their fans. 100 other teams get a few extra games, for players to get better, to impress pro scouts and the fans. 95% of them will never play football again, why reduce the number of games they get?

plus, having answers wouldn't be any fun.

3. Half or more of them Div 1 don't really qualify as legit opponents
They should be kicked down to another developmental division. Non developmental division members should have the option a playing them at their own peril.

Btw, We all probably know it will only change, slowly, if at all as long as all that money is involved. Just like anything else
