Texans say they're definitely going to draft Reggie Bush
The Houston Texans will select USC running back Reggie Bush with the No. 1 pick in this April's NFL draft, pending the formality of Bush announcing that he is turning pro, team and league sources told Chris Mortensen.

Almost nothing will change that course, the sources say, even after the Texans received word Friday from an intermediary representing Texas quarterback Vince Young that the Houston native is leaning strongly to also going pro.

The Texans will pick up an $8 million option on quarterback David Carr, who was the expansion team's first draft pick four years ago. Texans owner Bob McNair made the decision after getting extensive evaluations from various sources that strongly endorsed Carr, including a favorable report from Dan Reeves, the former longtime NFL coach hired last month as a consultant.

1. I read a newspaper article the day of the game about Young and he
said then that he was sure to be coming back. He felt he was robbed of the Heisman and wanted to win it next year. Now I'm reading he's leaning towards going pro--wonder if the article I read was incorrect, or he really changed his mind after the game.

5. Texans are definately dumb
they need a offensive lineman, not a runningback.

they should trade down, get some good OLs and build that team around Carr and give him some protection.

Stupid team.

6. I Agree
Although I like Reggie Bush as a football player I think the Texans should get a good Offensive line. They may also need to try to build their defense. I do not think they have all that good of a defensive line. I think their major problem is that the owner McNair does not really seem to be a good decision guy. He may be good on the business side but when it comes to making decisions about players to put on the team he seems to make bad decisions. I think he could have gotten much better players over the years.

8. Trade down and draft LB's (Hawk and Ferguson-UVa)
LB's are the best bang for your buck. They last longer and are more versatile.

RB's are a dime a dozen always have been. Anyone can run behind a good line so OL is a good pick too (they have the second longest shelf life).

The Ravens proved that you can win a Super Bowl by simply not letting the other team score and with a kicking game. Boring sure but a WIN is a WIN.

7. Huh? I thought he already did his service with the Guard 30 years ago
AP- White House scrambles to deny that Bush will be drafted

There are several ways into that joke.

10. Correct move
Bush is a freak player who will be a superstar for 8-10 years minus injury. You'll never get full value with a trade down and offensive linemen can be acquired elsewhere.

If Matt Leinart were a bit bigger and more robust with Carson Palmer type arm strength, he would he the natural choice. But since Leinart's game seems to require a pat hand around him, Bush is the proper pick. Reggie and Andre Johnson are incredibly talented building blocks for the Houston offense if David Carr, or someone else, can function well at QB.
