What kind of school is Belmont?
Belmont is a private, coeducational, comprehensive university; it's the largest Christian university in Tennessee and among the fastest growing in the nation.

Where is Belmont located?
Belmont sits in the heart of Nashville, in a quiet area convenient to downtown and adjacent to Music Row. Campus Map

How many students attend Belmont?
Belmont is home to approximately 4300 undergraduate and graduate students.

What kind of academic programs are available?
We offer undergraduate degrees in approximately 70 major areas of study through our six undergraduate colleges and schools: Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Religion, University College, and Visual & Performing Arts. In addition, master's degrees are available in accountancy, business administration, education, English, music, occupational therapy, nursing, and sport administration. The School of Occupational Therapy also offers a clinical Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree, and the School of Physical Therapy offers the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.



How many faculty members teach at Belmont?
Our faculty consists of 200 full-time professors. The student-to-teacher ratio is 12:1. Eighty percent of Belmont classes enroll fewer than 20 students. Belmont consistently receives national recognition for its commitment to personal interaction between students and faculty.

What kind of activities are available on campus?
All told, more than 50 clubs and organizations are active on Belmont's campus, including academic clubs, honor societies, professional fraternities, special interest and Christian organizations, student government, publications, social fraternities and sororities, music and drama groups, and debate and forensics teams.

Does Belmont have athletic teams?
The Belmont Bruins compete in NCAA Division I in men's and women's basketball, tennis, cross country, track, soccer, and golf; men's baseball; and women's softball and volleyball. We also have an extensive intramural sports program.

How much does Belmont cost?
The total cost of attending Belmont is only 80 percent of the national average for a private college. A convenient Cost Estimator for Belmont is provided for you on the Student Financial Services web site.



What are the minimum academic requirements for admission to Belmont?
We consider the total picture that an applicant's credentials present. The Fall 2005 freshman class had a 3.50 average gpa. The middle 50% of their test scores were 23-28 ACT and 1070 - 1250 SAT (Composite score of Critical Reading and Math).

What is Belmont's application deadline?
Application deadlines vary by program. Undergraduate programs accept applications year-round and notify students of the admissions decision four to six weeks after completed applications are received.

How do I apply for financial aid?
To qualify for need-based aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit it by March 1. For scholarship consideration, contact the program for which you are applying.

3. Yeah-plays lead guitar for a team called
"Disappear". Techno new age rock crap. I didn't even know it was a division 1 school. Congrats on dancing.

4. Both of my parents went there (and U. of Central Florida).

I think my parents met a Belmont, but I'm not 100% sure.
