I'm rooting for Cuba. I think that it would be phenomenal for a Communist nation to win the inaugural World Baseball Classic. It would make the right wingers heads swim.

1. The form of the last horse of the right-wing apocalypse was unknown
....until now.

That would be a hoot. I want to see Fidel do the seventh-inning stretch.

2. "waves hand"
Not a matter of their politics. . it's a matter that I think they have played good ball . . . have surprised a lot of people . . and I think they have what it takes to come away with the victory.

The right winger's heads exploding is just an added bonus ;).

3. My mom is Japanese, so I'll be cheering for them.
I think politics should be politics and sports should be sports though. A victory for one country's sports teams doesn't validate that country's political system. Cuba's still all fucked up, regardless of whether they have a good baseball team.

4. I'm going for Cuba
but like I said above not a matter of their politics. Just having right winger's heads explode would be a bonus.

Japan played great ball as well . .and they finally exacted their "revenge" against Korea in game III. . . so now that they've "vanquished their foe" if you will they have mad momentum going in.

Can't wait to see how it unfolds in the end.

5. I am, but I am afraid they will lose
since it is 6-1 in the bottom of the 5th.
