Aaron Rowland rocks. Broke his nose to save the game
Edited on Thu May-11-06 10:11 PM by Patiod
Nady of the Mets almost had a grand slam home run, but Rowland caught it, milliseconds before smashing into the wall. Broke his (insert Samuel L Jackson adjective here) NOSE but he held onto it, and saved the game for the Phils. Yikes.

I always thought of Jimmy Rollins as the one with hustle on the team, but he's got some competition this year...

2. As a minor leaguer in the Sox system
He ran THROUGH the centerfield wall to make a catch. It was a wooden fence, with ads on it and stuff, ran right through that sucker. He's a gamer, as a Sox fan I hated to see him go, but I can't argue with the results Thome is producing so far, thought I imagine Rowand will be in the league a good 6/7 years after Thome retires.

3. That was one helluva catch
Probably the best and the scariest I've ever seen. I'm leaving Indianapolis tomorrow to catch my beloved Phillies over in Cincy for the weekend games, hope the rain holds off a bit.

GO COLE HAMELS!!!!

5. eh, it was okay
the Mets got robbed though, you shouldn't call a game official after only 4.5 innings.

6. In spite of the fact that Trachsel tried his best to drag it out

and dawdle and toe the dirt and look at the ball and stretch and otherwise slow down the action so that when the game WAS called for rain, it wouldn't count.
