I just found out about Satchel Paige this week. We have a guy running for election this November and told me about him. Satchel sure said a lot of cool stuff. What a pitcher!

I put quotes up in the lobby every week and here's the one I just put up: "Ain’t no man can avoid being born average, but there ain’t no man got to be common."

On August 20, 1948, a 42-year-old Satchel Paige pitched the Indians to a 1-0 victory over the White Sox in front of 78,382 fans, a night-game attendance record that still stands.
