Where are all the Wade haters now?
He's single-handedly winning this series for Miami. We've got Shaq who can't hit a FT, and two fossils like Payton and Zo.

That bank shot in tonight's game was just sweet, and he brings it when it counts: when the game's on the line.

Dirk needs to crack Haslem in the temple with a elbow. I hope Miami loses. I am a Zo hater and Miami fans are lame. Overall, it was a pretty shitty game. Miami better pray Wade shows up the next two games. He is their whole team.

You're just pissed that Michael Jordan the second punked your crybaby team just like Jordan the first did.

Your team is old, washed up and done for the next ohhh decade. Have fun in Obscurity.

I can't see why anyone would like Dwyane Wade to begin with but even if you did, the excessive fawning and drooling would be enough to turn any normal person off! And it's got to be PRETTY BAD for me to care whether or not a team from TEXAS wins.

Wade is an outstanding young man and could be the next Jordan.

You're dislike of him is simply derived out of the huge amount of sour grapes you've injested since he beat up on your washed up Pistons.

Do me a favor---stick your finger down your throat and rid yourself of those bad grapes because they are making you act quite silly.

A debatable call, sure but it sure was no "phantom call" when you have Dirk and Harris practically "nuthugging" Wade.

Not conclusive, but it sure looks to me like Harris has his hand on Wade's arm here:

and Wade is an outrageously talented athlete. I think that Miami has plenty of talent, including on their bench. Yet it is a pleasure to watch Wade step it up to the level he did last night.

Looking forward to Tuesday, and I think it is likely to go to 7 games. Good luck to both teams.

He's not as outspoken or as obnoxious as some guys in the league that get the heat they deserve for it. Every night he does something amazing and frankly he has been the MVP this year. Shaq looks finished but Wade has them in every single game and is usually the guy singlehandedly winning them.

16. I get tired of The Chosen Ones getting the calls
That includes Wade, LeBron, Kobe, Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, and hordes of others. Wayne Gretzky got away with a LOT - he'll never be comparable to Gordie Howe because Gordie took care of himself and Gretzky had a bodyguard. I just don't like it when athletes get preferential treatment.

18. That's funny...
because the hoops players you mention are all good at slashing to the basket and creating contact - they do so because it sets defenses on edge and gets them out of position, leading defenders to make mistakes -- fouls happen during that time. Do some stars get a benefit sometime? Sure they do ... even your Pistons get that sometimes ... when they're aggressive.

Oh, and point of fact:
Nowitzki has taken only 8 fewer foul shots than Wade in these playoffs (221 to 229) ... now tell me, who is the chosen one?

I was trying to think of some football players who get away with contact, but couldn't remember any names offhand. Of course, I can't bear any of them - Jordan least of all - and I'm actually not a huge fan of Nowitzki either, but that was a pretty ticky tack call for the end of the game.

Dwyane Wade Named One of People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People

<snip>

"Miami HEAT star Dwyane Wade will be featured as one of People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People when the magazine hits newsstands on Friday, April 29.

Wade is the only NBA star and one of only four athletes featured in the issue, joining international soccer star David Beckham, tennis phenom Maria Sharapova and former NFL player Tim Green.

Wade becomes the second HEAT player to be featured in the 50 Most Beautiful People issue, joining Alonzo Mourning, who was featured in the issue in the mid-1990s."

Do you really not see that the officials helped them along?

Yeah, Wade's the savior of the Heat, but without the bad calls (or lack thereof), they'd still be losing.

We beat them by huge margins and they barely win when our best player barely shows up.

I'll give you this much, he's single-handedly saving them from any more ridiculously embarassing losses, that's it.

Cause Wade threw himself down for no reason last night - instant foul call, and (harris? i think?) barely even touched him. This is the way it goes for him regularly. I'm FAR from being the only one who's noticed, either.

Same with Dirk, is it, in your opinion?

52. I'm sure Dirk gets justified and unjustified calls ....
like every other player in the world -- and even gets the benefit sometimes, like stars do. The point is that your teams's star player himself was (before this series) smart enough to get fouls and create contact -- where were your posts complaining about that?

Wanna complain about Wade getting to the foul line at the end of the game? Okay, but then we can also complain about the rebound "travel" called on the Heat. See, whining about calls is tit-for-tat nonsense.

And for Dallas fans such as yourself to piss and moan because of officiating is classless and hypocritical. It was telling last night as Dallas went into its timeout before Terry attempted his (wide open) shot -- here they have a chance to raise some noise and cheer the team ... what do they do? Boo. With 20-some seconds to go and the game on the line, that's pathetic.

The Mavs should have done what Pat Riley would have his team do in this same situation, put Wade on the floor, over and over again. make the only player for the other team pay a price for every foul shot he gets. Oh, and the NBA should make him take off his flack jacket and thigh pads, this isn't the NFL,
you shouldn't wear padding just to make contact easier.

49. enjoy the continued death of the NBA
Wade is a great player, no doubt. But it has been demonstrated, over and over again, that people will pay more money, and watch more games, based on free wheeling, open court basketball like that played in Dallas and Phoenix. Check out the ratings for the conference finals, the Suns-Mavs drew more than Detroit-Miami, despite being on past midnight on the East Coast. But now, instead of copying the Western style, we get more people copying the Eastern style, slowing the game down and depening on one player to make things happen. Isn't that fun?

Look, it's not whining, it's simply pointing out that I have no desire to pay money to watch 15 teams try to copy Miami without having a superstar like Wade to depend on.

which is why the average rating for the series is 8.1, a slight uptick from the 8.0 last year, to be sure, but besides that year, the lowest rated NBA finals since 1994 (when one game was tape delayed while OJ went crazy with his blanco Bronco)

Hey, I like wide-open flowing hoops, straight off the playground, and, judging by TV ratings, so do others. If the NBA wants to return to the dark days of the late nineties, then by all means, proceed.

33. Wow, I didn't realize there were so many Heat Haters here
I expect that when it comes to the Miami Hurricanes but the Heat have been underdogs throughout the season as well as the playoffs. They have never even been in the Finals, much less win a championship, which is usually the way some teams generate a plethora of haters.

But the Heat will soon be part of the elite after they win this series and go down as only the third team in NBA history to win the finals after losing the first two games; the other teams being the 1969 Celtics and 1977 Trail Blazers.

I guess this is something we have to get used to down here in Miami: That the more they feel the Heat, the more we feel the Hate.
