The Vikings cut ties with one troublemaker Saturday just as another incident surfaced, extending a long stretch of off-field embarrassments for the franchise.
Hours after Minneapolis police cited safety Dwight Smith for indecent conduct in a Block E stairwell, the Vikings released receiver Koren Robinson in anticipation of Tuesday's roster cutdown to 75 players. Robinson was arrested Aug. 15 and charged with six counts of drunken driving and fleeing a police officer after a high-speed chase between St. Peter and Mankato.

At 1:20 a.m. Saturday, police say, Smith and a 24-year-old Hudson woman were found engaging in indecent conduct in the stairwell at 601 1st Av. North. According to Minneapolis Police Sgt. Stuart Helmer, Smith was issued a misdemeanor ticket, given a court date and notified of a pending fine of up to $700.
Smith is at least the ninth Vikings player to face arrest or police citation during the past 12 months. Three of those players are no longer with the team, including quarterback Daunte Culpepper and running back Moe Williams, who were charged in connection with a Lake Minnetonka sex party last fall.http://www.startribune.com/510/story/637959.html
