Once upon a time, we had a great baseball team
And once up on a baseball team, we had a great time. Congratulations to the Detroit Tigers on a GREAT season that captivated an entire state.
Congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals for their World Series victory.

1. Agreed.
I'm a Yankee fan, but that doesn't matter right now other than perspective. Tiger fans, have no fear, for this won't be the last time this group of Tigers makes it to the World Series. They'll be back, and soon.

Cardinal fans, CONGRATULATIONS, and savor it. It never gets old.

2. Detroit has a great young team.
They just need more experience. We'll see them again.

4. We??
Cardinals didn't have a good enough record to be second place in the NL East. With a little more Cardinal Magic they might just barely make the playoffs again next year. Or not.

5. I think the Tigers will be good for a long time.
Bonderman, Verlander and Robertson are very nice core of young pitchers. Sort of "Brave-like".

I questioned whether Leyland was a good choice with his comments right after he was hired. But, after hearing him call out his team early in the season, I knew this team would be for real. I didn't think they'd be THAT good, but I knew they'd be tough. Congratulations on a fine season and on many more to come.

6. What a ride! I can't believe we made it to the Series
One more left-handed bat, Mike Maroth, and some more experience by Zumaya and Verlander, and I like our chances next year. Oh, and if I ran the world, I'd hire Rickey Henderson as a batting coach. The year he and Mike Cameron played together on the Mariners, he helped Cammie overcome his propensity to strike out and showed him out to get on base more often. Granderson and Monroe could use his help.

8. I'm a sore loser
The Cardinals didn't have a record good enough to come in second place in the NL East.
