Anybody know how the Steelers are doing this year?
Have they traded the Zebras who played for them in last year's Super Bowl? Is Roethlisberger passing for 400+ yards but not leading his team to victory? (at home?)

Will I be a smartass about the Cardinals towards the end of next year's baseball season? The world champion cardinals did not have a record good enough to be in second place in the NL East but were victorious over the Tigers errors. As one Tiger said in their clubhouse after the game, I wouldn't trade this with anyone in the other clubhouse.

2. They need to bench Big Ben for a few games
Put Charlie Batch in and give Ben a rest.

Rookie pitcher errors are something the Tigers can fix. I look forward to some more good years from them.

3. I'll love them when they win and I'll love them when they suck!
No fair weather fan here now those Carolina Panther fans? If they lose to the Bucs next Monday night, everyone here in Charlotte will be selling the rest of their seasin tickets.

4. Sigh
Some people will never give up that Meme. Bad call were made on both sides during the Super Bowl, but the ones most commonly pointed out that favored the steelers (Offensive Pass Interference in the End Zone, Holding bringing back a deep pass, and the TD by Ben) were all valid calls. Madden makes an ignorant statement on the air (what a shock) and suddenly everyone loses the ability to reason on their own. Live with it.

As far as why they suck so far this year...I think it's because they won the super bowl. That tightness isn't there. That drive. That hunger. EAT THE SANDWICH! They're losing games all on their own. They turned the ball over 4 times inside the Denver 5 yard line this past game. You don't win that way. Heck they've found ways to lose to Oakland, and Atlanta, and San Diego, and Cincinnati. All good teams, but I would have liked to see those games played again without the slippery hands of Verron Haynes, Santonio Holmes, and the hyper passing of Roethlisberger. They might have been interesting games.

They have the talent, and they played with it last year winning all those straight games and beating Cinci, Indy, and Denver in the playoffs before besting Seattle, fair and square. That talent then got their super bowl rings and got complacent. Maybe next year they'll start getting hungry again, but if they couldn't pick it up to beat Denver, I don't see it many more wins this year.

I predict they end the season with 6 wins. Any more and I'll be shocked.

5. Actually they have passed the horseshoe they had up their
ass last year to another team, who I haven't figured out yet but my bet is the Saints!

7. I would agree with the passing of the horseshoe
if the Saints were the same team as they had last year. But they have had massive changes in personnel and coaching staff and that's why they have had a successful season so far.

6. Is it true the Steelers
got their rings made in the shape of a Zebra? I don't need Madden to make me know what I saw. I call their ring one for the dumb. No current Steeler had anything to do with the other four when the Steelers had a kickass team.

9. Other people saw different
I could get into the whole thing, but you obviously have a bug up your ass about the whole thing. Of the four 'bad calls', three were arguably, if not demonstrably correct. The fourth (the call on hasselbeck) was bs.

As far as the 'one for the thumb', it's because it's a matter of civic pride. 5 for the city and the team, not the specific players. If you don't get that, then you don't understand Pittsburgh.

10. Well one good thing
We don't have to concern ourselves with this conversation after next year's Super Bowl, or the one after that, or the on after that.

8. We're 2-6
we're not playing well. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers.......................

Also, add some stupid penalties at bad times, players not playing well.

The irony is that statistically, we're supposed to be much better than we are. But, alas, statistics are wins.
